Dean Graziosi says how you do one thing is how you do everything. He worked collision repair while building real estate, and his enthusiasm for every task led a customer to lend him $90,000. Audit where you're acting like a sloth and elevate your approach.

Today I want to talk about the lesson of doing it great even if you hate it. Welcome to the Dean Graziosi Show. All success starts right here. I see so many people going through life, and they're doing a job, in most cases, a job that they dislike. They hate the job they're in. And they're just kind of like, for you guys. Do you remember the movie with the little girl was a rabbit? Oh, God, I can't think of it. She was a bunny. She became a cop. She went to the big city, and in that were the sloths, right? And when they went to the bank and she needed something really quick, and she's a rabbit. She's like, can we get this really quick? And the guy was the sloth working the thing was like, sure, we can do it. All right. That was a really bad imitation, okay? I say that because I feel like so many people are being sloths in their life in their current job, right? Or what they're doing. Like, I hate this. I'm going every day, but I got to pay the bills. And they do it like a sloth, while simultaneously they're saying, once I do my own thing, then I'll be like the rabbit. Then I'll be like Superman. And in my experience, that's not the way it works. How you do one thing is how you do everything, guys. So I'd love for you to analyze. I don't know how old you are when you're watching this. I don't know if you're in your teens, your 20s, your 50s. Maybe you're watching this when I'm dead and gone. But if you're doing something really shitty with lack of energy, lack of effort, you're being the sloth from the rabbit movie that I can't think. Somethingtopia. I don't know. Somethingtopia, I think it was. If you're doing that, that's how you do one thing. It's how we do a lot of things or how we do everything. I'm going to give you an example, guys. You know this. But I was in the collision repair business with my dad. And every day. I was the only painter in the shop for a long time. Every day I'd work on cars. At night, my dad would line the cars up and I'd paint them. A lot of times the ventilation wasn't good. It would give me terrible headaches. I still think I get headaches from that because I spent 10 years painting cars and my nails would be dirty and, you know, just. I hated it, but you wouldn't know it, because I knew there was more for me. Now, I don't know where I got this from. Maybe, you know, you could be born with it, but I don't know. But I know it worked. And it worked for John Paul DiGiorio, and it worked for Richard Branson, and it worked for Tony Robbins, and it worked for so many Arianna Huffington. So many. If you don't know those names, Google them, guys. But all I know is while I was working that collision shop, I was already starting real estate. I already knew I was doing bigger and more things. I was in my early 20s, I started in my teens. But if you came to that collision shop, people would say, oh, my God, that guy loves doing collision repair. He loves painting cars, he loves doing bondo. He loves replacing fenders and changing brakes and all those things. I hated it, guys. I hated it. But for some reason, I knew it was temporary. But I also, somehow, I think it was intuitively, I love this look back and go, I knew exactly what I was doing. I had. Hell, no, I didn't know what I was doing. I just knew I wanted out of there and I wanted more. But I treated that with full gusto, with full excitement. And when customers came in, when they left, they're like, damn, that guy's on fire. And I want to give you an example. One of the first. One of my first big real estate deals that brought in, first time I ever made over a million dollars, guys, I brought in a million dollars in my 20s starting with nothing. And I know that's. I'm giving you a measuring stick, not that that's relevant, but one of the customers that came in was intrigued by me, was intrigued by my enthusiasm, intrigued by my excitement. And he's like, wow, you really love collision work. So I did his car, and he came in, he said, you really love collision work. I said, truthfully, not really. But if I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it to the best of my ability. And I was damn good. But I was already working on real estate. I already owned some apartments. I was already doing some subdivisions. Like, literally. So cars during the day, guys. So remember, in today's world, everybody wants fast, quick. It's always more work than people think. I mean, I worked on cars from 8 in the morning till 5, went and ate, had a pager on my side because I drove a tow truck all night. If there was an accident, I'd go get it no matter what time, in the middle of the Night, the police paged me. But at night, I'd work on houses, and sometimes I'd work till 12, 1 o' clock in the morning, get up, do the whole thing over again. That's a true story. So I'm telling this guy my next level. I talk about real estate. He's like, so tell me about real estate. So I tell him about a deal I'm working on. Long story short, because of my enthusiasm, because he saw how excited I was, even in something I didn't like, that guy ended up lending me the money to buy one of my biggest real estate deals. I think he lent me $90,000. I'm a collision guy that worked on his wrecked car, and he gave me $90,000 towards this deal. He ended up making such good money. I made great money. But that was just one example of my entire life of how I did one thing with passion. I did one thing. I dug deep, I got it done. I wasn't the sloth. I was the guy that looked like he loved cutting firewood. I was the guy who looked like he loved fixing and painting. I was the guy that looked like he loved doing insulation and sheetrock and sanding and being full of dust and plumbing and carpentry and everything. I did all those things. And if you would have walked in while I was working on one of my apartments, you think, oh, my God, that dean loves that construction. I didn't love getting up in the. I worked all winter outside when I was building houses. I'd be up on a roof, you know, putting a roof on when it's 4 degrees out. My fingers so cold. You have your fingers so cold that you got to bend them back out and you can't feel them and your fingers can't even talk. I didn't like that. But, man, if you saw me, you'd think I did. Only because I know I carried that same. It was just temporary. I was gonna say I carried that same excitement through. I carried that ability to want to learn and adjust. And I think that's what's allowed me to go from cutting firewood, to be in the collision business, to be in the real estate business, to be in the course education business, then in the writing book business, and then being in the live event business, and then being partners with Tony Robbins and my buddy Brendan Bouchard. And how did I translate to all these? Because I bring this, like, if I'm going to do it, I'm going all in, or I'm not going to do it at all. So in this lesson today, I want to encourage you to be really honest with yourself. Are you being a sloth in one area and expecting to be the energy, the energizer bunny when you do the thing you really want? Because it may never come. And I'm going to encourage you to kind of audit your life and decide what areas you're slacking on and how you could step up that game. Knowing as Tony Robbins, my dear friend, and you guys know that because you've met him and you know what a dear friend he is. As Tony said, what if life happens for you, not to you? What if the current thing you're working on right now that you feel like a sloth and you're just like, ugh, this sucks, I hate it. I had to do a midnight shift or whatever it is. What if that was designed for you to give you the experience for the next thing that's going to be the big thing? Or maybe it's not even next thing, it's the next thing after the next, after the next thing. But all of those are designed to allow you to navigate new territory, to create new capabilities in your life to be ready for the next level of happiness, abundance, joy, wealth, self fulfillment, impact on others that you deserve and desire. So this lesson today guys, is really simple. How you do one thing is how you do everything. Step it up and watch how the abundance will come your way. Thank you so much. I appreciate you.
