MASTER THIS One Thing For SUCCESS! | Dean Graziosi

Dean Graziosi argues that mindset accounts for 80% of success, tactics only 20%. Money stress damages relationships and health, but the real shift comes from moving past scarcity beliefs and using wealth for contribution rather than consumption.

Here's another stat. 76% of all Americans say that money is the leading cause of stress in their Life. So if 76% of people say money is the leading cause of stress in their life, what do you think the number one cause of heart disease, cancer, anxiety, stress, the worry, the things that are crippling our community.
Listen, the two things that make us feel the best, when you really boil it down, is growth and contribution. Right.
Think about it.
You know when somebody said to me once, more than once, but money doesn't buy happiness. And I call it BS because that just means you haven't given enough away.
Yes.
Like, listen, I love the fact that I retired my mom and then few years later I retired my dad. I mean, I've been, I've retired my dad since my. I've been paying my mom and dad for over 25 years. Every week a check, every three years, a brand new car. Right. But, but here's the thing I want to, I want you to think about, especially here in America, there's a lot of craziness going on. Obviously you're, you're aware of that. I saw you, you know, put the black box up on your thing. That's amazing that you're supporting from another part of the country. But I want to share something and I really want you to think about this. If you want a desire like something that pulls you towards finding success and there's no such thing as overnight riches. There's no such thing as magical money machines. You got to put the work in. You got to learn from people who've already been there. You got to work 25% harder than you think. Don't believe all the bullshit with Everybody with their four minutes of Lambo. Like, you see a 17 year old kid with a Lambo and you think, I'm not knocking that in any way possible. I appreciate all that, but just don't think it's easy. But is it worth it? Hell yes. I'm going to tell two quick stories. There was a gentleman I met named David Kekich. David was in a wheelchair. He was paralyzed from the neck down. He was jogging, got hit by a car. And when I met him, this guy was full of energy. And he handed me this little card with Kekich credos on it.
It was his credos that he had.
Come up with his whole life. And one of them said, living the hard way is easy and living the easy way is hard. And that's just stuck with me forever because you can sit on the couch and eat pizza and McDonald's and watch Netflix. That's easy. But it's really hard being older and out of shape and unhealthy and have diabetes at 50, right? You can be unfaithful and goof around and drink every night, cheat on your girl you're with or guy you're with.
Like fuck around.
And it's all. That's fun. It might be fun doing this shit. But if you do it for so long and you burn bridges and hurt people, you end up alone and sad. So easy now, Hard. Then you could work for someone else right now. You could say, you know, I have dreams, I have a bigger version of me, I have more potential.
But you know what?
I'm just gonna play it cool. That's easy now to not step out of your comfort zone. It's easy not taking uncomfortable action. It's easy not taking imperfect action now. But when you're 50 and you're still working the same thing and you haven't filled your potential, I would say that's hard. So what I'd say is I'd rather hustle now. I'd rather go to the gym. Listen, but I get to go. I go to the gym every day. I eat healthy. But I'm 51 years old. I got an 8 week old and I'm fine. I'm going to live to 100, right? Because I'm putting in the work. I suffered and struggled and had late nights and stressed and failed in businesses miserably and how to use credit cards and had my family tell me I was nuts. I went through all that stuff. It was hard at the moment, but now I get to live a more fulfilled life. And the reason I'm saying that is if money drives you, great. If it doesn't, then think if you have the capabilities to do it. What could money do to help other people? And that's the part I want to share. Just three quick things here. And I don't ever say this publicly, and I'm not. I just shared it the other day on my Instagram for the first time ever. But when my wife and I found out, and my kids, we decide each year where we're going to donate money. When we saw how many kids here in America go to bed hungry every night, it got like our family decided to do something. I don't brag about it. I don't go on social media. It's not on one website. I don't make anybody feel bad if they're not doing it. But we decided and in the last two years, we've donated 7 million meals through Feeding America. Right? When we found out, my wife and I found out how bad human trafficking is and sex slaves, I had no.
Idea that existed at that level.
That still exists, right? I was totally clueless how bad it is. We donated a half a million bucks to that, to that charity because every $2,500 rescues a child, right? What's going on in America right now? Listen, the way I raise my children, the people I hire, the friends I have, the books I read, I know I'm doing my part, but I haven't done enough. And this media frenzy is going to go away. And when it goes away, the only.
Way this is going to change if.
People keep doing it when no one's watching. So for me now, I'm doing all my research, I'm learning my family, my children, I have a 13 year old and 11 year old as well. We're all doing research on how we can help continually. And because I get to make money, because I lived hard, I can do that on another level and I can hopefully make an impact right from where we stand. So there's a lot of different ways to look at success. All I'd say is figure out the one that's a burning desire for you. If you want that new car, good, feel it, go after it. If you want to donate money and help causes, feel it, burn after it. But if you find that burning desire, I don't think there's anything that can stop.
Let's talk about money. Money's a weird thing to talk about to some people. It might even be a weird subject to you. Like, and before I get to that, before I talk about how I think money is the weirdest thing in the world, it's like we have this weird. I said weird way too many times. We have this relationship with money. Like think about if we were a therapist, right? If we were at a therapist and like money was on one couch and you were on the other and the therapist was there. Money, money is one of those things that you. Some people don't like it, are afraid to think about it or don't want to talk about it too much. Some people even think money may be bad or money is evil, while simultaneously it's the thing that causes the most stress and worry in their life. It's really crazy. It's like you desire it because it'll cause it'll release pain, but at the same time you're kind of pushing it away. So that's 30,000 foot. Let's dig in. But first, some cool stats I think you guys should look at. CNBC says finances are the leading cause of stress in a relationship. Cnbc, Kansas State University did a study and I'm just pulling little pieces out of a long article. But the top predictor of a divorce is arguing about money. Here's another stat. 76% of all Americans say that money is the leading cause of stress in their life. So if 76% of the people say money is the leading cause of stress in their life, what do you think the number one cause of heart disease, cancer, anxiety, stress, the worry, the things that are crippling our community, our stress. And this report says 76% of people.
Are the most thing they're stressed about.
Is money in their life. So again, here we go with that relationship. We despise it in so many cases where we get mad on how we can earn it. We get mad we don't have enough of all this stuff. Well, simultaneously it's the one thing that can take away so much stress in our lives. So we're going to create a new relationship here in the next few minutes and I'd really love for you to be open minded. You know, sometimes we say, hey, I want you to think about this. Sometimes I will talk to people and they want the magic bullet, the magic pill, the magic keypad, the hit that that is going to make them money overnight. The magic money machine. Hell, there's a lot of people on Facebook making money selling the magic money machine, right? And the more I've been in this, in this game of helping this industry, of helping others achieve more success, more financial success, more stability, while simultaneously where I came from, of having nothing in the evolution. The, the more I look at that, the more I see the evolution of it is 80% and I probably would have said 20% than 30 for the older I get. I realize that 80% of what you need to make more money to be more successful to start your own business or thrive in the one that you have, or take a side hustle or side business or evolve through the ranks in the current job you have, or the sales position, or if you're a network marketer, the ability for you to go faster, quicker and higher literally lies between here. I think 80% lies between here and the last 20% are the tactical strategies that you use. Whether that's making money in real estate like I teach so many of my students to do, or making money online, or making money with stocks, or making money in your own Business or your own company or selling information or whatever it is that you do. I really believe that 20% is the end. Because if this isn't right, if the foundation isn't right, things just fall apart, things crumble, things you give up too soon, you get frustrated too easy. Anxiety and overwhelm happen too fast, and then you back up and you retreat and go, maybe next time. And then, then you go for the next business or the next thing. I mean, how many times do you bounce and bounce and bounce, thinking, this one will be the magical one, this one will be the magical one? No. Without the core foundation for success, you could bounce around from job to job, business to business, opportunity to opportunity for your whole life. And I want that to stop. That's why I'm so. I don't take you guys being a part of this group lightly. I want to share with you what I believe are the greatest strategies to get you to that next level of where you want to go. So thank you for all the comments of the win. Okay, so let's get to some. Let's get to the money relationship and the beliefs that so many people have. And maybe some of these you don't have. So let me go through five, four beliefs that I think are crippling if you have any ounce of it. And we want to spin those today. So, number one, money is scarce. We've all been told that money doesn't grow on trees. And what that is, is we feel that money is scarce, or in fact, we live in a fear that it's going to run out or going to vanish. And we know that money doesn't vanish. Money is not going away. There's the same amount of money, if not more around the world than there's ever been. It's not getting smaller. Think about that. Like, really think what I just said. Money is not shrinking, right? In fact, this year, America alone, and I've said the stats, a lot of you have heard this, but because it boggles my mind that there's 1700 new millionaires being created every day in America. Think about that. 1700 new millionaires every single day in America. Is that 80? Doing the math. Like every hour, every, every. I mean, it's crazy, right? So think about that. And I took some notes here. So instead of, instead of the question, and this is, this is one I really want you to think about. What happens is when we think about money is scarce and it doesn't go on trees and we have this feeling that it's getting shrinking and it's going away. What we ask ourselves is this. How do I protect myself? How do I save this money? How do I make sure no one takes what I have? And that mindset keeps you on the sidelines. I want you to say, what about asking yourself a different question? Because here's the thing. If money doesn't disappear, if we know it's the same amount or more, can we agree on that? If it's not disappearing, then all it is, is money is moving from one group of people to another group of people. Same amount of money. If there's still, let's say there's $100 and you're moving it around amongst a bunch of people, it's just who's getting the chunk of it? There's still $100. The same sum total is there? It's just moving differently. So the question you should be asking yourself is not how do I hold on to what I have? How do I make sure I don't lose any of this? How do I make sure I keep the lights off at night? I'm not saying you shouldn't be conservative. What I' Instead of having that mindset, what we should be saying is, how do I become the person? And this is one. Write this down. I hope you're paying attention here today, guys. I hope you're not playing with social media, looking around, trying to focus on this. Because the question should be, how do I become the person where the money is moving to rather than away from? Right? Just the same little, same thought process, just a different shift. Instead of, instead of thinking money is scarce and it's going away. No, there's 1700 new millionaires a day in America alone being created right now. Money's not getting scarce. It's just those people, money is flowing to them and somebody else who's standing there trying to protect the little, protect themselves and thinking a scarce mindset, their money is slowly going away. Now, I am surely not going to be an advocate or say that you shouldn't be conservative, that you shouldn't save money, that you shouldn't be smart, smart with your money, of course you should. But here's what I know in the evolution of my life of going from that kid living in a bathroom with my dad and not having money and all those things. And I'm not saying that to give you my pitch or my story, but when I look back at when I tried to save and be conservative because I listened to maybe grandparents that went through the Depression or listened to people that was like, you're Crazy. What I realize is when you change your mindset on money, when you gain the capabilities, and when you take action, it is, in my opinion. You can disagree with me. In my opinion, money is easier to flow to you and make it than it is to save it. I even look at that in my business, I'm like, hey, let's tighten up on expenses. And I'll look through all these things like, okay, if we tighten up all those, because we're such a big company now, we could save this much. But if we. If I write a new book, if I start a new campaign, if I do some more real estate deals, I can bring in this much with a little. With the same amount of effort, like save this much or just make this much. How? The hell with it. Keep everybody there. Keep the lights on. I'm gonna go make it over here. Now, I might be an extreme, but I'd like to give you a little bit of that. That if we stand on the sidelines, envying those making more, being not jealous, but like desiring what other people have, but we're afraid. Afraid because we want to hold on to what we have and be afraid to take action, a lot of times those opportunities pass us by. Okay, number two, thank you guys for the comments coming in. Laura, you're awesome, too.
This is awesome.
We didn't say I was awesome, but, you know, I'm going to say you're awesome. So let's look at number two. We believe if we make it that we're taking it from others or hurting others, and that's so false. But I want you to dig in, and I'm not going to go deep on this one. I just want you to think about that because I will talk to people who are just anti money. They want to be in. It's this, like, two forces fighting inside their body. They want to start their own business. They want to be a capitalist, they want to be an entrepreneur. They want to take ownership of their life. They want to be in control, while simultaneously they feel bad because they feel like if they're making too much of it, they're actually taking it from other people. They're not. You're not. In fact, I want you to have a new thought process on that. When you make money, if you want to change the world, if you want to make an impact on your family, if you want to make an impact on your church, if you want to make an impact on those that need it, those in Houston right now, those in Florida right now, or those struggling in the Midwest or those struggling in Mexico or around the world, or build a school in Africa. You have a desire, you have an obligation to make money. And in fact, when you make money, you help the world thrive. If you get the economy in your house thriving and you get that security and confidence and feel like, I'm freaking safe no matter what, I'm making enough to live the lifestyle I want, I'm safe, you get to impact other people. Now let's take it to another level. You start making more money, are you actually taking it from people? Or if you get the economy in your house going and then you flourish in your house, do you maybe hire someone to take care of your lawn? Do you hire someone to take care of your house? Do you hire someone to make meals for you? Do you drop off more dry cleaning? Do you get a new car? Do you maybe upgrade in a house? Do you start leaving the air condition lower? Do you get a personal trainer? Do you get a naturopath? Do you get a nutritionist? When you make money, you help the world grow. This is the complete opposite. It's completely false to think that if you make money, you're hurting someone else. When you make money and change the economy in your house, you can change the economy and affect the world. Someone who doesn't have a job mowing a lawn right now could have a lawn mowing company or business. If you get out there, make more money and start spending, You can't get to your next level, the level of life that I'm sure you want, or you wouldn't be here without bringing new people into your life. Whether that's a relationship, whether that's a partnership, whether that's employees, whether that's strategic alliances and partnerships, you can't go at it alone to get to the level I'm sure you crave. How are you going to bring those people in? I'm telling you, after over a billion dollars in sales and revenue with my brands and my companies, after monumental mistakes, after some incredible accomplishments, after being an entrepreneur for 33 years, I'm telling you, you spend time understanding the values of that person you need sitting next to you. And then you look internally, understand your values, you bring in people with the right values. Nothing will allow you to grow in here and with this than what I'm sharing with you today. If it's not time for you to bring people in your life, remember what we're sharing today and come back and visit this. Tag it, remember the name of this, remember the date of this training. Because this training Is a game changer. Now I want to share some of the values that I used. I went through an exercise. Okay, questions. Go ahead. Start putting a cue with the questions. If they go really quick, I'll do my best to go back and look at them.
But.
But I want to share when I was hiring, when I was hiring, some of the values that I wrote down when it was looking through the eyes of who I wanted around me. And this is. I think I wrote this two and a half years ago. Number one, hungry for achievement. You might want to steal some of these and write them down. Number one, hungry for achievement. I need somebody who's just hungry for the next level. They want to grow. They want. They're not just looking for a job. Not looking for. I mean, there are some people that would be happy if you paid them 60 grand a year to sit in a chair and stare at a field to make sure rabbits didn't eat the lettuce. 60 grand a year to sit and watch rabbits? Hell, yes, I'll take it. Not the person I want. I want someone to go, no, I'll sit here and watch it. If I could run the farm or maybe own that field someday, that's what I want. Hungry for next level. Not hungry for complacency. Not hungry for a paycheck. I want someone hungry for achievement. Think of those words. Somebody hungry to achieve. Not hungry to just get the job done and do what I have to do to get my paycheck. Okay, Another one was whatever it takes. I want someone. I'll get back to these. I want someone who will do whatever it takes. I'm not talking about working weekends and nights, even though that. I want that sometimes. But someone is like, all right, it broke. I'm going to fix it. I'm going to find a solution. I'm going to keep going, do whatever it takes. Not, I tried it, it failed. I'm done. Hey, I did what I could, but Johnny and Sally, they didn't do what they were supposed to do, and we couldn't accomplish this. So it's not my fault. Oh, I just said that I annoyed you just now saying it. So if you ever said that, don't do that shit ever again.
Throw that out.
Stop. You wouldn't work here, and you won't be successful. Do whatever it takes. You. If people around you are incompetent, the world will notice that you're competent. Okay? I want somebody who's enthusiastic and quietly competitive. I don't want somebody. I don't mean hyper like hey, look at me. I'm talking about enthusiasm. Like coming from like, I got this drive. I want a quiet competitor. Not like, oh yeah, I'm winning. More like, oh yeah, I got this. And even if you're competitive with yourself, even if you're competitive with yourself like I used to, and I just did it for the first time in a year. Camelback Mountain is right behind my house and I used to run it three days a week. And every time I went up, as soon as I entered the trailhead, I'd look at my time. Like 25 minutes is what I did last time. Gotta beat it, man. I started at 45, got all the.
Way down to 25 minutes.
Man, I couldn't beat 25. I think I may have lied a little bit to myself. I think I did 24 once. But man, I was quietly competitive with me. I wanted to be a better version of me. I want to beat that. Like now that I went the other day, I'm Back to like 40 minutes. So sad because I haven't done it in a year, but I'm breaking 25. I just, I committed to it and I'm doing it. So I'm going to be competitive with me, the guy in the mirror, always working on personal growth. I'm not hiring anyone who doesn't work on their personal growth. Just not happening. If I bring up what we're talking about today and like, eh, I don't need that. You don't need this job. Don't need to be in a relationship. You wouldn't be my partner. I wouldn't start a new company with you. Just ain't happening. We talk different languages. You talk Spanish or Latin, I talk English. Wayne, it's not working. I need someone who's a team player. I shared that before. I don't want somebody that's all about significance and what's my badge? It's like, no, you need to be a team player. You need to look out for the people around you. You do that, you can be on this team. I need somebody that wants it like they want it. They want that next level like they see it. They don't just talk about it. Like you could see in their eyes that they get it, that they want it and they want to learn and gain the new capabilities to go to that next level. Now there's just a few that I used to hire people as the best employees of my life. So that's my message for today. I used to think it was the tool the write the book, do the real estate deal, build the course, start the company, create the restaurant. Then I realized, oh, none of that works without going upstream to develop the habits for success. So I wrote a Habits book. So that's why it's one of the best selling books on the planet right now. But now, not that I just realized, but I know none of those habits will stick without really knowing your values and anchoring them in. And I have to tell you, there may be some values that some things that you do that compromise your values. I know I did. It's okay. Once you write them down, you could say, you know what? That's not my values. I'm going to work on never doing that again, never lying again, never being unfaithful again, never being deceitful again, never being talking to homeless people, that we're never compromising my ethics. Whatever it is you got to do, get aligned with your values.
