Dean Graziosi uses a glasses metaphor to explain why your dreams are yours alone. Others won't understand your vision because their prescription is different. The only permission you need comes from the person in the mirror.

You can't expect others to get your dreams. Listen, God or whatever you believe in gave us a different set of glasses. This is my prescription. When I look through it, I have 20/20 vision. I could see it. It's the same in life. I know where I want to go. I know I have crazy dreams and I know most people won't get me. Just like a pair of glasses. If I took my prescription and gave it to somebody else who had different eyesight, they might put them on and go, This is blurry. How could you see? It's so dumb. It's no— God, like I said, the universe, whatever you believe in, gave you your vision. You know where you want to go. You need your compelling future. You need to keep pushing forward. And you can't expect others to get your dreams because they weren't downloaded in them. They were downloaded in you. And the last thing I'll say about this is stop waiting for permission, because the only person you need permission from is the person in the mirror.
