Video Blog #64 -The Danger of saying "Yes"

Dean Graziosi's video blog warns about the personal and professional cost of saying "yes" too often and encourages viewers to set boundaries by listing what they currently say yes/no to. He connects the exercise to making time for income-generating activities (particularly real estate and his programs), offers concrete examples of trade-offs (overtime vs exercise/family time), and promotes a March 11 live conference call and an Edge live event in May.

Hi, this is Dean Graziosi, and welcome to this week's blog. First of all, if you're on the east coast and you got pounded with snow, I'm sorry, man. It looks terrible out there. I'm from New York, so I know what it's like to get snowed in. But now, being here in sunny Arizona, I can only say a prayer for you guys, because I know some of you have even gotten three, four feet of snow, which is just insane. But I hope you're coping. Hey, I'm in the middle of a book called Boundaries. It's a really great book, and it just talks about that boundaries may have been set or not set at all when we were kids by our parents, style of raising us, or by friends and family or influences we had. Maybe you're one of those people that just says yes to everybody you meet. You don't have any boundaries you want to satisfy. You're a people pleaser. Somebody asks you to take them to the airport, move their house, watch their kids, you know, do their homework, do their work at your job or whatever it is, you're always saying yes. And I want you to. You know, there's a lot of things in this book, but I really would like you this week is to see what you're saying yes to and see what you're saying no to. And if you're saying yes to everything and it's not allowing you the time, the energy or the effort to put in making money with real estate or changing your life or trying something new, then you might have to figure out where you have to start saying no. Because remember this, when you say yes to one thing, you're saying no to something else. If you're saying yes to overtime at work because you're doing someone else's job, you may be saying no to exercising or spending extra time with your children. If you're saying yes to your family and friends who take a bit of advantage of you, you might be saying no to reading my books and taking action with real estate. Saying no doesn't make you a bad person. Knowing where your boundaries are is probably a smart thing. So what I'd love for you to do this week is just take a piece of paper and I got some stuff written on mine. And you might want to just draw a column, a line down the center of a piece of paper and say, what am I saying yes to? And what am I saying no to? My gut says your yes file will be really filled up and your no file will be minimal. And what are you saying no to? Are you saying no to spending time@Dean Graziosi.com, saying no to working with our mentors at my Success Academy? Saying no to taking a trip to come to my live event in May? Saying no to reading my book twice so you take action. Saying no to going out and looking at your first deal or going on Craigslist or going to a real estate investment group by you or going to a real estate auction by you to get names? Are you saying no to those because you're saying yes to things you shouldn't? And are you saying yes to bad habits that aren't getting you anywhere? Yes to TV shows that maybe make you laugh but aren't changing you and your family's financial future? Make that list when it's right there in front of you. My gut says you're going to take action and start moving some no's over and some yeses over to the nosy because that's the only way you can start making a difference for you and your family. I can do these video blogs till I'm blue in the face. I can be here every single week. I haven't missed a week. I think I missed one week since I started this about 64 weeks ago. I do everything I can. I do monthly calls. I do live events. Our Success Academy. I do the best I can. Am I perfect? Absolutely not. No one is. But I surely try to inspire and motivate and give you the wisdom and capabilities to change your life. But if you're saying yes to too many things and no to getting engaged with what we do, I surely can't help you. Hey, couple quick announcements, Mark, on your calendar. I'm doing a live conference call on March 11th and I'm going to bring three students on who are also going to share their techniques on how they're making money. Some great people, some great information and I'm going to do a training that's going to knock your socks off if you didn't sign up for the live event. The Edge event, We haven't released it to our entire list. Only the DG family members and Empowering Conversation buyers and last year's attendees have been made aware on how to get tickets. We're going to launch it to everybody pretty soon, probably in a couple weeks. We're just delaying and putting some things that we're giving you guys the last chance to get involved and we've sold a hunk of tickets. We're not sold out yet, but we will sell out if you want to get involved and go to the Live Edge event, click that link below. Get more information. Get those tickets. Remember, what are you saying yes to that? You got to say no to advanced training and things that could change your life. Mark the calendar, March 11th. If you want to go to the Edge, read the information below. I'm Dean Graziosi. I'll talk to you next week.
