Weekly Video Blog #126 - The Benefits of Delayed Gratification

Dean Graziosi delivers a short weekly video blog on the benefits of delayed gratification. He argues that the often-unpleasant early work—education, repeated rejections, persistent outreach, and making many offers—is the necessary foundation for later financial and personal freedom, using farming and real-estate anecdotes to illustrate that the hard initial effort leads to lasting rewards and security for oneself and family.

Hey, guys, welcome back to the weekly blog. You know, I just sat down and it's. What can I discuss today? What wisdom, direction, ideas, inspiration can I share to keep you guys on track? It's funny. Chip, who's been working me for years, has been filming my shows and my blogs forever. Just walked in, he said, you know what I, like you talked about it one time, is the benefits of delayed gratification. That's kind of like benefits of delayed gratification kind of up, down, up, right? And what that really means is reading the books, being on this blog, joining my success academy, coming to my live events I've talked about. This isn't that much fun. Then actually going out and doing the work and calling banks to find the right banks. And the first 10 tell you no, and that's not fun doing those. It's not fun trying to find a real estate agent and go through six people. A lot of them are negative, telling you you're crazy and it doesn't work. That's not a lot of fun either. Making 25 offers to get one deal, not so much fun. Maybe raising money or putting buyers on your list and calling for rent signs and the first five people don't work out, that's not fun. But guess what? That's the foundation for what can come down the road. The delayed gratification, the benefits of what can come and that can produce, right? When someone is plowing a field and planting corn and they're, you know, maybe when they start back 100 years ago, 150 years ago, when they had to clear a field and use horses to plow and. And then plant the seeds and then water them and worry about them, none of that's fun. But the delayed gratification of that farmer was when the crop produced its fruit, produced its vegetables, and they got to sell them and make money or feed their family. And that's kind of what a lot of you have to see, is that it stinks to go through a lot of the pain, the education, paying for education, learning it, finding time in your busy day, right? Letting people tell you you're nuts and crazy for doing it and kind of putting the brick wall up and just going for it. Remember, at the end of the day, you do have to roll up your sleeves like mine are right now, and you got to work. But the delayed gratification is unbelievable because here's what happens when you make that first deal, when you put that first profit, when you wholesale that first deal, you can look ahead and say, oh, my God, what's next. But you also can look behind and go. All of that work, all of that education, all the time I spent if worth it because I have a new path, a new plan to take my life and my family's life to the next level. Because here's one thing I know, once you do this once, you'll realize for the rest of your life that no one, no boss, no economy, no president, no congress can ever take away the wealth that you can generate and the security that you can build for your family. So next time you're having a tough day, tough week, Realtor says no. Can't you know the Success Academy, you might feel a little overwhelmed, go to a live event and you wrote too much, don't know where to start. Take a breath, step back one step at a time and know that delayed gratification is so sweet on the other side. I'll talk to you soon.
