Weekly Video Blog #136 - What Independence Day Means to Me

Dean Graziosi opens a Fourth of July video by reflecting on national independence and sharing a personal immigration story about his grandfather, who arrived in America penniless and built a life as a restaurant owner. Graziosi connects that history to his own financial and personal independence (real estate success, bestselling books) and issues a call-to-action: declare this month an "independence month" to begin building one’s own business/freedom. He also teases new, in-development content derived from interviews and mastermind work that he will release by month’s end.

Hey, this is Dean Graziosi. And first of all, happy Independence Day. Happy fourth of July. And what that's done is made me really think about the word independence. You know, we're lucky enough to live in a country where we got our freedom. We got freedom from tyranny. We got the freedom to express ourselves. We had the freedom to create our own constitution. And how awesome is that? A land developed by the people, for the people. You know, we've had a lot of mistakes in America. I get all that. But I still think we live in the greatest place in America. I'm proud to be an American. Listen, two generations ago, my grandfather got on a donkey, rode down to a port in Italy, had no money to get on a boat, decided to make a deal with the ship's captain that he would shovel coal. And he shoveled coal to get his butt over here to America, and got here with no money, couldn't speak English, with no skills other than being a laborer. And he started in a restaurant, he started washing dishes, he went on to be a waiter, went on to learn the language, and later on in life he ended up owning his own restaurant. Before he was tragically killed, he was a volunteer fireman and a fire truck went over. I'm only sharing that story with you because you know what? America allowed my grandfather rode a donkey to get on a boat. And I'm blessed to be making insane amounts of money from real estate, from writing New York Times best selling books. I have the independence, the ability to go wherever I want. And it's time for you this month, let's declare this our own independence month. Let's declare this a month where you start putting the foundation in place to finally do this. You know, I read all the posts. I know a lot of you have been on the edge. You're excited. You watch my blogs. This is the month we're going to take action. In fact, at the end of this month, I'm going to be working all month. Don't miss a blog this month, don't miss an email this month. And by the end of this month, I'm going to build and start sharing you next level stuff. I've been working for about nine months on taking my thoughts, my process, what's going on in the world, what's going on with the market. I've interviewed more of my top students, successful students, in the last nine months than ever before. I've literally probably Talked to over 100 successful students and got what's working, threw out what didn't so I'm working on something big for you so you can declare your own independence. Okay? Think about where you were. Think about where my grandfather was. Think about it only as fuel or wind behind your sails. But forget about it after that, because all I want us to do is look forward to a bigger future. Think about independence. The only thing in life that can ever give you the security to know you'll be okay is doing your own thing. I'm not saying going out and quit your job tomorrow, but until you do your own thing, that you're in control of your hours, your time, your energy, your effort and your profits. And you're always going to be underneath someone else. You're always going to be underneath someone else's business that could go out underneath a boss that represses you, or maybe you bump up to the next size cubicle. The heck with that. It's time to declare independence, put the foundation to change your life. And I'm telling you, this is our month. By the end of the month, I'm going to start sharing something with you that is going to blow your mind with my next level thinking, you know, you guys might know. Or maybe not. I go to my own brainstorm groups to be a better entrepreneur, to be a better thinker. One group cost me 25 grand a year to go, another one $20,000 where I sit and brainstorm with people as smart as me or smarter so I can go to the next level in my thinking. Well, that combined with interviewing more students than I ever had in my life, has some really cool stuff coming your way. So this is our independence month. This is the month you're going to get started. This is the month you're going to dig in and finally make it happen. Don't miss a blog, don't miss an email, and I'll talk to you next week.
