Dean Graziosi’s weekly video blog (Weekly Video Blog #17) is a short motivational vlog in which Dean speaks from his in-office studio about meeting Mark Victor Hansen. He recounts Hansen’s early rejections—50–60 publishers turned him down and family discouragement—and highlights Hansen’s later success (co-author of Chicken Soup for the Soul; over 157 million books sold; Guinness-recognized nonfiction sales). Dean uses this story to urge viewers not to be discouraged by early failures, critics, or naysayers when pursuing real estate deals or other financial goals; the only person who can stop you is yourself. The piece closes with a brief sign-off.

Hi, this is Dean Graziosi. Welcome back to the weekly blog. You know, I had some other things planned I wanted to talk about today, but yesterday I spent the entire day in the studio. I'm sitting in my studio right in my office. My main office is in the next wall over here, right across the wall. And we built this amazing studio where I get to just turn the camera on and talk directly to you. And I love it. But yesterday we spent the entire day in here with Mark Victor Hansen. If you don't know who Mark Victor Hansen is, he's the co author of of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series, the One Minute Millionaire, the Aladdin Factor, all these great books, has sold over 157 million books. He's in the Guinness Book of World Records for selling more nonfiction books than any other person on this entire planet. And he's just a really good guy. But what I wanted to talk about is we got into a conversation yesterday and I really thought it would be great for you to listen. With all the success he has now, you figure 157 million books, hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars have been generated because of what he writes down or co authors with somebody. But he told me the story on how he was writing his first book and 50 or 60 publishers turned him down. That everybody told him to go get a real job, his family told him to get a real job, his own father told him not to come back to their house because he was too much of a dreamer or too focusing on a bigger future for himself. And that's got to be really hard. But guess what? He didn't give up when 50 something publishers told him it wouldn't work. And he didn't give up when his parents looked at him crazy. And he didn't give up when some of his friends stopped talking to him. He knew in his heart he had the desire to change his life. And he did in such a huge way. And not only has he generated hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars, but Mark has affected people's lives all across the world. Think about wherever you go or anybody's house you've gone in. Most everybody has a Chicken Soup for the Soul book and he's the reason. So don't you dare get discouraged if the first couple real estate deals you try don't work out, or the first realtor you talk to says your strategy doesn't work, or a friend or family member says you can't or someone tells you you can't make money in today's market or you can't make money with bad credit or you can't make money with no money down. Nonsense. The only person that can stop you from reaching the entire dreams or all the dreams that you have for yourself and your family is you. So don't dare let that happen. I'll see you here next week. Same time, same place. Take care.
