Weekly Video Blog #67 - Perception is Reality

A short YouTube video blog by Dean Graziosi delivering a motivational message that 'perception is your reality.' He uses everyday examples (car accidents, being cut off in traffic, the economy) to contrast negative vs. opportunity-focused perspectives, urges viewers to adopt positive interpretations, and ends with announcements about his Success Academy, an upcoming conference call, and guest teachers.

Hey, this is Dean Graziosi. Welcome to the weekly blog. I'm sitting here in my office. Didn't feel like going into the studio today, so I turned on the little flip camera that a lot of you have used to send us in. Great success stories. I figured I'd say hello this way. Hope you guys are all doing well. Hey, I have a quick little lesson for today. You know, I say this a lot, and I've said it on TV before, and I've said it on these blogs before, but I want you to really remember something. That reality is nothing more than what our perception of a situation is. And I say that in a kind way. You know, if two different people get in the same exact car accident, one person could get out and freak because his fender is bent and he's got the inconvenience of now having to take a taxi in a tow truck and going to the collision shop and calling his insurance company, while the other person could just get out and be glad no one's hurt and realize it's just steel. Remember this. It's the same exact situation when what's different is the perception. So remember, perception is your reality, not actual reality. I hope that doesn't sound confusing because remember, one person sees tragedy and misfortune, and another person sees opportunity. If you take in all the news, the negative news, the naysayers, you can look at this economy as the worst thing that's ever happened. And it is tough for so many of you watching. Please don't think I'm downgrading all the troubled times that so many of you are going through. I'm not. But what if you try to change your perception and say, wow, this is a hard time for me, but I'm on this site, dean grazioc.com I've got this book, I've got this information, and maybe I truly am alive during the greatest time in history to get ahead, to make money, to change my life. Maybe there's opportunity all around me, and I'm just using that as one example, but remembering everything in life. So somebody cuts you off in traffic, you can get really frustrated and waste a lot of your energy, a lot of your time and be mad at them and flip them off like so many people do. That's your perception. Maybe that guy did that on purpose. But in reality, the other side of perception, maybe that person had a really bad day, lost his job, got in a fight with his wife, really sad about a sick child. You never know. So why not just have your perception give people the benefit of the doubt, Just say, hey, that guy might be having a rough day. Wish you a better time. People think you're crazy when they cut you off and you wave to them with a smile. Again, I'm just using these as examples, but I'd hate for you to waste energy on being negative and upset when all that energy can be going and you could take your life to the level that you deserve. Well, I'm Dean Graziosi. Thanks for watching my short little message of the day. I have a ton of work to get to. It's been a long week, a long month.
