Dean Graziosi watched his 5-year-old hunt for prizes at the mall and turned it into a lesson: frame your goals as a scavenger hunt with milestone checkpoints, small rewards, and friendly competition. He uses real estate examples like finding your first five buyers or attending an auction, set as a 90-day challenge to beat negativity and move faster.

Hey everybody. Welcome to this week's weekly Wisdom. Thanks for all the great comments last week. Well, they're always great comments every week. And I do, some of you ask, I do read every single comment underneath these blogs every single week. It's amazing and inspires me to come back and do it again the following week. Okay, here's my message for today. So a couple nights ago, I took my daughter on a date. Me and my 5 year old daughter. She just turned 5 on November 20th. But I try to do one date night a month with each one of my kids where it's just me and them and do what they want to do. So we went and had sushi. My 5 year old loves sushi. Like literally raw fish. It took me till I was about 30 to like sushi. So we went and had sushi. We got done with sushi and we went shopping. She wanted to go Christmas shopping for her brother, which was awesome. So we were in the mall holding hands, having a great time. We get done, it's her night, so she wanted to get ice cream. So we went and got that treat. And we were in the with the food court of the Scottsdale mall. And while her and I are having ice cream, I look over and there's a monster crowd. Probably 60 people, maybe 80 people, and one guy standing up on a chair, a high chair above everybody talking. And everybody was super amped up. I couldn't hear what they were saying because I was focusing on my daughter. But when they were done, it was two people and one piece of paper and they scattered all over the mall. So happy. I'm like, I got to find out what that is. Luckily, two of the people landed right next to me and my daughter and were talking and they had a piece of paper in their hand and they were looking at it and they were going, okay, first things first, we have to go and do this and then do that. And when I realized it was like a scavenger hunt or a treasure hunt at the mall and these people were so excited. And I heard the girl say, the first one was, I have to take you to my favorite store, tell you why, and then pick something up. Maybe they get a bead or something. Pick something up and then come back. And so I was listening and I realized, oh, scavenger hunt. Everybody likes scavenger hunts. Everybody loves a treasure hunt. So it got me thinking, how can I take that information, help my students take their education or their progress and make it more exciting. So that's when I was thinking, I always Tell you guys to work with somebody, even if it's somebody right here on dean graziosi.com I know so many of you tell me there's no other possible positive people in your life. Zero. And I get that. I went a lot of years like that. I truly understand and feel your pain. But you have them here. That's why I created dingrazziosi.com but what about having somebody in your life and you create your own milestones? That's almost like your own little treasure hunt. Again, what is reality? We talked about it last week. Reality is nothing more than you tell yourself. If you say learning real estate is hard and it's annoying, it's lame, no one can do it, I can't do it. I'm not adequate. Well, guess what results you're going to get. That's your reality. That's what you get. But if you say I'm going to make this fun, I've conquered the job I'm in. I've conquered being an amazing parent. I've conquered a marriage. I've conquered being a great attendee at church. Whatever it is you've conquered, you've already done it. So why can't you conquer real estate? If you can't or you think you can, it's because of that. It's because of the reality you set. So here's what I'm thinking. What if you get someone in your life and. And you set up these plateaus of success but you make it like a treasure hunt. Like we're going to race to see who gets the best realtor on their team quicker than the other person who can get the first five buyers on their list and make like a one page treasure hunt or a scavenger hunt and you get to check them off and every time you do it, maybe you got to buy the person lunch if they're local and if not, maybe you got to send them a gift certificate to Starbucks. Little tiny things just to say you won. But then it all adds up to like 20 different things. And the last one is your first deal, right? Putting buyers on the list. The first one to get bandit signs out. The first one to get calls off a bandit sign. The first one to mess up and then get it right talking to a seller. First one to go to a tax sale or a foreclosure auction and get three buyers on your list. I don't know what it is, but I bet you with a little thought everybody watching is as smart as me, I assure you. But I bet you with a little thought. Even if you do it on your own, you could come up with your own little scavenger hunt and make it a 90 day challenge to get it done and have fun with it. Guys, all I know is for all the things that you've done in your life, all the things that you're currently doing every day, I know that they're no harder than real estate. It's just fitting it all in. It's getting over the negativity, the naysayers, the mindset, the negative person on your shoulder. I get all that. So why not have fun with it? That scavenger hunt when I was with my daughter really opened my eyes, and now I wanted to share it with you. That's my message for today. Have a wonderful week.
