Weekly Wisdom #163 - How to Predict Your Future

Dean Graziosi delivers a short motivational vlog (Weekly Wisdom #163) reflecting on the past year, thanking his community for submissions and support, and giving a concrete homework exercise: envision oneself one year in the future as if it were the best year ever, then write down the emotions felt. The talk emphasizes attaching emotions to goals (spiritually, emotionally, physically, financially) to increase motivation and follow-through.

Hey, everybody, it's Dean Graziosi. Welcome to this week's weekly Wisdom. First of all, last week I hope you got my holiday, my Christmas message. Hope you had an amazing week. Right now, Happy New year. We're into 2012. Can you believe it? God, time goes quick, doesn't it? Hey, last week again with my Christmas message and we wanted to help out some families in need. Thanks so much for so many of you sending info in on family and friends that could use a hand up and use that $200 to, you know, to help them through these tough times. We read every single submission. There were hundreds of them. We only could pick 50, but I want to let you know we read every one. And if we didn't pick you, I apologize. But you know, I'm always doing something crazy. So stay here, stay tuned and be a part of this community always. Okay? A couple other things I want to let you know I didn't get. I got a late Christmas present that came from a lot of you watching. I didn't realize that Megan had sent you out an email and asking to just share how my training, my blogs, this website, my books, rock bottom blueprint, whatever you're involved in, our company, how it's changed your life, either making money or just thinking differently or living a better life. And to send in a picture and a quick comment, I want to tell you this was one of my best Christmas presents I got all year. I got this from Megan. This is from you guys. These are all posts and pictures of. Maybe you can see yourself going through this kind of quick, but these are all in here. Here's the funny thing. There's I think 400 in here and that's a big a binder as Megan could get to make it a book. We have more. We're going to have a couple of books and I want to tell you I have not read all of these yet, but I've read at least 100. And extremely touching. This is something I'm going to read and make sure I read this week. These are the types of stories and the types of things that inspire me to be here every week, to work so hard to always deliver you true wisdom, direction, capabilities. And not just stuff that's dreamed up and sounds good, but stuff that's applicable to your life. Yes, in real estate, but also in just having a bigger future mindset and getting over the hurdles and knocking the naysayers out of your life and don't let the media get you down and all the things that truthfully I need to work on every day. The reason I think I'm so good at it and sharing is because these are the things I work on every single day. Believe me, I don't just wake up and everything's perfect and the sun's in the perfect spot and the coffee's perfect. Kids are perfect. Life is perfect. You know, we have to work at this every single day. So when I learn something new, when I understand something, when I figure something out, or I pay someone $25,000 for a day of mentoring because I think they're smarter than me, you get all those benefits. I've spent hundreds of thousands of dollars, literally, on my education in just recent years on how to be wiser and how to teach you and teach myself to go to the next level. And you got to realize something. When I say spend all that money or I've done over 300 real estate deals in the last 90 days. 120 days. When I get that information, you're the first one that gets it. So that's why these blogs make sense. That's why I love doing them. And this was really special. And I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to, you know, I know we're all busy. You didn't have to upload a picture and write something nice. Really great. Thank you. Okay, so it's the new year. What are you going to do? What are you going to do different this year than you did last year? So this year is better than last year? Well, there's a million things. And we've been kind of working up to the new year with a lot of great ways of securing yourself and understanding your true reason why. But here's just one small thing I'm going to give you to do this week as homework. Here's what I'd like you to do. Now, I'm sure you have goals. I'm sure you've thought. And if you're new to this blog, you know, knowing the big reason why you want to make more money, why do you want a bigger future so you can secure yourself and take care of your family? All the reasons why. I'm sure you know why if you don't think through it. But here's your homework. I want you to envision that we're sitting here a year from now and you're watching this video and everything went the way you would hope. It was the most amazing year of your life. Financially, emotionally, spiritually, physically. What is that? Instead of just these goals, looking forward And I've said this before, a lot of you who are loyal to watching my blogs know this. I want you to think it's a year from now when you're looking backwards and everything went unbelievable. And I want you to envision it, even if you want to sit alone, go to a Starbucks, a library, go in the guest bedroom when no one's around. And I want you to think of what it would be like a year from now, that it was the best year of your life on all those areas. Here's the homework, though it's a little different than you might be thinking. I want you to just let it feel. I want you to envision it and pretend all of it happened. Put yourself a year in advance or all these things happened. And I want you to have a pen and paper next to you. This is your homework. And as you're envisioning, eyes closed, whatever you want to do, I close my eyes and I think of where it's going to be, how much money I'm making, what my kids are going to be like, how much time I'm spending with them, what am I doing on a daily basis. And I want you to write down the emotions of how you're going to feel when that happens. Are you going to feel confident, happy, excited for the first time in your life, vibrant, ready to wake up and destroy the day in a good way? Like, what is it? How are you going to feel? So that's just one tidbit. There's a million different things you can do for goals, but this is a really important one because when you can attach an emotion to a goal, it takes it to a whole other level. So your homework, again, I'm going to repeat myself because I need people to repeat stuff to me. I'm not. The quickest study is to picture it's a year from now, everything went is the best year of your life, spiritually, emotionally, physically, financially. And you're just on fire. And you visualize it and you let yourself just imagine it all is true and write down how you feel, what are the emotions you feel? And then I want you to look at that and realize that's how you're going to feel in a year from now. It's a really powerful part of your goal setting and making things happen. Not just setting goals and putting them on your refrigerator and hope to be a millionaire, hope to do 10 deals. That's all great. You need that. But you need a big reason why. And you need to know how you're going to feel. When you get there, because, damn, it feels good when you can look back and say, I crushed 2012. And that's what you're going to do. That's my message for the week. I'm Dean Graziosi. Talk to you soon.
