Weekly Wisdom #176 - Pushing Through It All

Dean Graziosi uses a migraine on the treadmill as a metaphor for pushing through life's hardships. Successful people "do it with a headache," he says, meaning they keep going despite pain and setbacks by holding onto their reasons why and staying abundant in their thinking.

It's great motivation, great inspiration for me to make sure I deliver the true wisdom direction capabilities to help change your life. So believe me, your posts are my fuel for coming back week after week. Okay. Last week I shared the videos. The top seven contestants of the Send Me Away Dean contest. People submitted so many amazing videos and it stunk that we had to pick only seven. But the voting has started. In fact, it's a really, really close race. So I'm gonna leave the voting open for one more week. I'll put the link below. Of the seven finalists, their home videos sent in on how they changed their life. All of the stories are documented. So I need you to vote. So if you didn't vote yet, click below when you're done watching this video and vote for me. It's really close. I'm telling you. First, second and third are within votes away from each other. So you need to decide who the winners. Okay. This week I want to talk about making the hard decisions or doing things when it's not easy. I'll tell you what triggered this. So last weekend I was in Las Vegas. If I met you and you were at the buying summit last weekend, awesome. It was amazing meeting so many of you. I signed over, I think 200 books and shook everybody's hand. It was really, really incredible. Met some really awesome people too. But the morning of the event, got up at 6 o', clock, 5:30, 6 o', clock, and met one of my partners that I do a lot of business, a lot of real estate with at the gym. Yeah, I was in Vegas, went to bed early, got up and went to the gym. You know, if I'm going to speak on stage, I got to be clear, I can't stay up late, right? But that's not what it is. And this is not about patting myself on the back. It just made me think about something. So I go down to the gym with one of my partners, Brandon, amazing guy. And we get on the treadmill and every time we go, it's two guys next to each other on the treadmill and you know, we run. If he pumps his up to seven, I go to seven. He goes to seven. Five, I go to seven. Six you know, it doesn't matter what we do. We're in competition. Good competition. It's healthy competition, right? But I didn't say anything. But I never get headaches. I'm blessed. But last week I had a migraine, and it's the first time I experienced a migraine for like, three or four days straight. It was miserable. Now, there's people with a lot worse things than that. And I know, and I'm not saying, poor me, but it was a really, really bad headach. I didn't want to go on stage. I didn't want to get out of bed, but I'm on the treadmill. I'm like, I'm not going to complain. I don't want him to think I'm making an excuse. I didn't realize that he's been getting over a cold and he was sick. We both met, didn't say anything. About three quarters of the way through, we were both dying, and we're still going at it. And I shared with him, I said, I have to tell you, man, I'm glad we're getting through this workout, because my head's killing me. And then he shared how he felt, and it hit me just like that. Not because it was us. Again, I want to put this back for you to learn. Not just about, hey, Dean's great, right? But what I realized is people who are successful do it with a headache. And what do I mean by that? You should write it down. We. You, we go out and do things. When you have a headache, go exercise. When you have a headache, go look at the property. When you have a headache, go make sure you get the kids, go to soccer practice, get home and still do an hour worth of real estate when you're tired and beat up. Here's what I wanted to say. The headache is just a metaphor. It could be anything. When you're stressed, when you're worried, when you're out of time, you got to do the things that are hard. People are never judged on what's easy. So many times, you know, in life, you know, your spouse or somebody you love will do a whole bunch of good things, and you barely say anything. They mess up. Once you're like, hey, how come you messed that up? You're like, hey, what about all the things I did good? Unfortunately, you're immediately judged by the things that are wrong. Well, it's kind of that. What we have to do is we have to make sure we power through the things that are hard. So many times, so many people will give up once it gets hard or make an excuse. You see, when I think back in my own life when I wanted to get involved in real estate and I had no money, it was hard to think about I'm going to do something completely different with no money. But I had vision and excitement and again, not just talking about negative people, but I got a sit down from a family member telling me I was crazy, that this will never work. And. And I didn't have their support. And that was hard. And I could have bailed right then and there. I could have bailed, but I powered through it. I remember so many times when real estate deals fell through or when 9, 11 hit so many people. Like there's so many times in life where something hard could absolutely cripple us. And what I realized when I was on that stupid treadmill with my partner and we're both running feeling like crap is that people who make it still do it with a headache. So like, that could be your little metaphor. Like successful people do it with a headache. And that's what it is. That headache is life. It's the hard things that are all around us all the time. But we have to find a way to have all the things we talk about in these blogs week after week. We have to have our big reason why. So when you don't feel good or you got that hard thing or people against you, you need your reason why. You got to have an abundance mindset. Here's the thing, all these things we talk about that I try to give you week after week, I are just little pieces that add up and all of a sudden the puzzle starts coming together. And when things are hard, it really is not that hard because, you know, if I power through this, I could see the forest through the trees. So anyway, I hope that made sense. Today I shared some personal things about me because it's important because so many times you guys could watch me and think, wow, life goes great for Dean. He's got money now. Life must not be tough. Heck, I hit obstacles all the time. So now it was just a measly little migraine last week. That wasn't again, that was just the example of bigger things. But I've had hard obstacles on different paths and different times in my life that were really tough. And I know more will come. But with all these different pieces that we use, we know that the hard things, if it was easy, everybody would be doing it right? So when it's hard, focus on all these things, we talk it through, power through it, and be the one that doesn't give up when you hit a bump in the road. That's my message for today. If you didn't vote on the videos, hey, somebody's going to win the chance to be my partner, and you get to decide. So make sure you vote below, and I'll see you next week.
