Weekly Wisdom #215 - Gold, Silver and Bronze Coins

Dean Graziosi and Joe Polish sort your time into gold, silver, and bronze coins. Cut the bronze: excess TV, energy-draining people, pointless internet. Gold is meaningful relationships, skill-building, and high-impact work like real estate.

Hey, everybody. Welcome to the Weekly Wisdom. I'm Dean Graziosi with my good friend Joe Polish.
Howdy.
We just got done doing a live cast. If you didn't see it, you could probably watch the replay. We'll put the link below. And then the second part was for our IE members, so it was pretty darn amazing.
And we're wearing the same clothes because we just got done doing it.
We just got done doing it. So I wanted to shoot this video for everybody while we're here, but the reason I wanted to do a blog while you're here or do a Weekly Wisdom is because we just touched on a subject I thought was really great. The gold, silver, and bronze coins. I mean, we're going into 2013. This is. Oh, tomorrow's Christmas. We're shooting this in advance, but tomorrow's Christmas or the day we launch this. This week is Christmas. So happy holidays to every single one of you. I hope you're having an amazing time. And if it's not the best Christmas, well, you know What? That's what 2013 is for. To make it an amazing year. So as Dan Sullivan says, if you can cut a check for the problem, we. We can get rid of a lot of problems in 2013.
Exactly.
Happy holidays. But anyway, I wanted to touch base, circle around on the gold, silver, and bronze coins because so many times I'll say, so many people spend time wedging the quarter out of the sidewalk while $100 bills are floating over their head. Totally. So similar concept. So maybe we could chat about that.
Yeah. So I learned marketing from this crazy guy by the name of Gary Halbert, and he said to me once that people, so many people spend their days stepping over gold coins because they're so busy picking up the bronze and s. If you want to go deep with this, we had a whole conversation about it. You can watch the recording of the webcast. But the point here, as it applies now is as you go into 2013 and even the next week, before the end of the year, think about what are the bronze and silver things in your life that you can drop and see. The challenge with this is that there's value in ideas that are bringing in a little bit of things. But the problem is, everything you say yes to, you say no to something else. If you say yes to watching this TV program, you're going to say no to learning how to maybe do a real estate deal. If you say yes to spending time, you know, watching, I won't say a certain thing on the Internet. Maybe. Anyway, Surfing on the Internet, surfing on the Internet on useless stuff that really isn't going to amount to anything, but it's entertaining. You're saying no to spending that time with your family. So don't just look at professional things as gold coins, but also look in your personal life. What are the gold coins, coin relationships that you haven't nurtured? Who are the people that you need to call up and say I love you? Who are people that have helped advance you that you need to just show appreciation for? So start thinking in terms of gold coins. And you know, you can have as many gold coins in your life as you want if you focus on them because you get what you focus on, you know. And so for 2013, one of the things that would make me very happy is to inspire anyone that's watching this to eliminate as many bronze and silver and worthless coins to so that you can really spend your time picking up the gold coins. The gold coins are everywhere. In many cases they're right in front of you. And if you're not able to pick them up, develop the capabilities and skills through everything that Dean has put together for you so that you can get what it is you want. And you know, think about a year from today, if you were going to be talking to me and Dean sitting on one of these, you know, this sofa, this love seat, you know, you would, and you were super successful. You would be reporting the decisions that you made, the books and events that you've attended, the people in your life that you've hung out with and the people that you've eliminated, the crap that you've eliminated out of your life. It's all about skills and habits. And so in order to become a millionaire, you need to develop million dollar a year habits and skills. And you know, millionaires are focusing on gold coins. That's why they have, you know, millions of dollars worth of them. That's great.
And you know, a lot of times I'll share with you guys, you know, we got this from Dan Sullivan. The skills that got you out of Egypt don't take you to the promised land. There aren't the skills to take you to the promised land. And as entrepreneurs, yes, got you here. Yes to being involved in some of my education, for cutting a check for the right education, saying yes to taking an opportunity when everybody around you told you were nuts. But if you're watching this, you're probably the doer in your area, amongst your friends, amongst your family. So when someone needs to borrow money, they probably ask you when they need a ride someplace. They ask you when they want emotional advice. They ask you when your church needs something. They ask you. That's why you're here. You're a doer. But you got to realize in 2013, you may want to analyze all the things you say yes to and put a gold, silver or bronze coin next to them. And in 2013, I'd love for you to be aware, starting on day one and weekly and monthly on what you need to start saying no to. Because like Joe said, it's a great line and I've said it for years on my weekly wisdoms. When you say yes to one thing, you're saying no to something else. If you're saying yes to too much TV and not getting the capabilities to learn how to take advantage of the best real estate market in history, well, then you're saying yes to the wrong things. Saying yes to negative conversations might need to go. Saying yes to a friend who's a battery drainer. As you always say, when you plug into them, they suck the energy out of you because they're so negative, you may have got to say no to spending too much time with that person. So it's not only what you're going to say yes to in 2013 or what your goals are, but I'd also like you to figure out what are you going to say no to that's either a silver or bronze coin. So you can focus on the gold coin and in this case, it's real estate.
Yep. And so last thing I'll say, and we talked about this on the webcast, Write this down, put it somewhere. Today is the last day of the way I used to be and become a better version of yourself. Even if you're already awesome, you can be even more awesome. And that's it. So that's Happy Holidays and wish everyone the most amazing 2013 ever. But if you're going to have that, it's totally up to you and getting as much use out of all of the tools that Dean has provided for you. And so I look forward to hearing about your success if our paths ever cross.
So, Joe, you're awesome. Thanks, bro. Everybody have an amazing holiday and we'll catch you here next week. And if you didn't watch the live cast with Joe and I, you can watch part of it by clicking below or taking a trial membership on the Insider elite where you can watch the full and complete version.
