Hey, everybody. Dean Graziosi, welcome to the Weekly Wisdom. I'm here with one of my students and great friends, Matt Larson.
Glad to be here.
Good to have you. We just got done shooting a really awesome, I don't know, about a 40 minute interview. Talked about the what's it like to be Matt Larson? I thought that was pretty awesome. And while we were going through it, I was really intrigued by some of the questions, some of the answers to the questions I put on Matt. And one was I said, Matt. So if you're one of my personal development students, watching my quotes or watching my weekly wisdoms, you know, I also teach real estate education. It of how I built wealth and helped so many people. And Matt's one of my students with an amazing story. From machine shop worker to one of the best investors I know who's done thousands of deals. And I asked him one question, is, what do you think got you to that next level of life? Not just real estate, but I watched you change your philosophies, I watched you change your beliefs, I watched you break through barriers. What was one of the things that helped you most?
You know, I think, you know, one of the biggest things is when I started teaching other people how to do real estate. I mean, you have to understand something to a much higher level when you're teaching somebody else how to do it. Not only that, but, I mean, the more you teach it, the more the belief in your mind starts to change. And you start. It changes how you. Your perception of that, of whatever it is that you're teaching.
You know, a good friend of mine, Joe Polish, who owns Genius Network, he. He said to me, if you want to get better at something, even if you're sitting down and having a conversation with somebody, take your iPhone in today's world, hit record and place the phone on the table and record yourself sharing with somebody. All of a sudden it's, oh, this is recorded. Shoulders go back, head goes up, and you want to deliver the best. Right? Did you find that same experience? I mean, you were out on the road for five years teaching people. For me, absolutely.
Absolutely. I mean, the more I taught, a couple things happened. I. I taught myself as I was teaching others, but I was teaching others what they were doing was working, they were making more money. And it just, it was like a snowball. Got bigger and bigger and bigger. Bigger, running downhill, just, you know, took over like crazy.
Yeah. So guys, that's. I had Matt here. He shared that before. I want to share with you, so think about that in your Life. If you've been watching my weekly wisdoms for years, if you have my personal development courses or one of my real estate courses, I know everybody doesn't want what you've learned. We know that you go to a Tony event or my event or you go to a live event and you're inspired. You want to go home and change everybody else's life, right? You want to give them this next level. But a lot of times people don't want to receive it. So here's your assignment for the week. Go out and however, you have to do it subtly, by example, by showing, by talking about your own story, make up a story about you. But this week, teach somebody else something that could take their life from here to another level. Whether it's a friend struggling to get into the gym, somebody struggling financially, struggling in a relationship, if there's something you've learned from my quotes, my weekly posts, my winning state of mind course, our reps course that we just got done, the greatest real estate course that's ever been released. If there's anything that you've learned over the last six months or six years watching me or between watching the two of us go out and teach somebody this week, because it shows you. I mean, I know with my kids, I talk about my kids all the time. I become a better human being by teaching my kids. I become a better human being when I go on stage and share in front of thousands of people or talking on camera. I know that's one of the secrets to my success. And when you said that today, just like, wow, we got to share that with everybody.
And not only just teach, but you could also take one of your books, just pick one of your books and sit down, have two people read like a chapter and then discuss, hey, what? What do you learn from that? And what did you learn from that? And just trade ideas back and forth. That's another way to do that exercise as well.
That's awesome, Matt. Thank you for being here. Matt truly has become one of the greatest real estate investors I know on this planet, doing thousands of deals. But also, I watched him take the strategies I've shared to change your beliefs. His dad told him if he ever bought a house, he was an idiot. Right? And now you own hundreds and hundreds of houses. So he had a lot of beliefs to overcome, and he's done an amazing job in his personal life, his health life, and his financial life. And for you, go out and teach somebody something this week that inspires them to the next level and watch how it makes you feel. I'm Dean Graziosi with Matt Larson. Thanks so much, guys. We'll talk to you.
