Dean Graziosi describes the knowledge industry as bridge-building: people who've solved a problem package and sell the fastest path for others to follow. He uses examples like divorce, job loss, and starting a business to show how lived struggles become teachable, sellable processes.

What is the self education industry? How do you describe it? That could be the upscale industry, the knowledge industry, the information industry. How do you sell what you know? When you boil it down, you're really just a bridge builder. Think about it this way. You go along in life and all of a sudden something happens. In a moment you have a mess. You went through a divorce, you lost the job. You had to start something new. People let you down, you got sick. And down that journey of it going bad, you start figuring things out. You figure out how to evolve. And you get to the other side and your mess becomes a solution. The same thing when you have to lear, learn something new, start the business, learn to sell, learn to eat vegan. You learn the process. It's hard at first, but you come out the other side and it's a skill. Sometimes you have to take an uncomfortable action, you have to end the relationship, start something new. But you go through the process, it becomes mastery at the end of the day. You went through this valley and you're on the other side. There's a lot of people starting here. You just build the bridge. You sell them the fastest way from here to here. And that's the self education industry.
