Dean Graziosi argues work-life balance is a myth for people trapped in jobs they hate. He pushes work-life integration instead: blend work and life, find work that lights you up, and treat life as R&D so you don't reach the end feeling you played small.

When people say work life balance, they're full of crap. There is no such thing. Work life balance came from having a job you hate and you got to stand at the front door and go, okay, let it go, let it go. Try to be a good dad. Try to be a good mom. Let it go, let it go. And then you got to walk through the door with a fake freaking smile on your face when you really want to go in and, like, kick the dog because you're so miserable. I don't mean that. Please don't kick dogs. But you know what I'm saying? Like, that's where that term came from, where life changes when you have work life integration, when you don't know when work ends and life begins and life ends and work begins and vice versa. No matter what age you're at, no matter what time, what season you're in, we can all shift. We can all take what we've learned. It's not wasted. It's research and development, Right? It's life is research and development. We can say, hey, everything I've learned now can allow me to say, hey, let me find something that lights me up. Let me find something and do something that I could put my heart and my soul in. Because the last thing we want to do is get to the end of our lives and realize we played small because we didn't like what we were doing.
