G', day, guys. Dan here with the how to Scale a video business podcast. Today's shorty is episode number 213.
Just come off the coaching call for the VBA amazing session this week, but I wanted to start with a personal note, and that is the power of change I may have mentioned. A couple of months ago, I was starting a new fitness regime. I wanted to finally get myself into some shape.
And so I joined a program called Fusion Fitness a couple of months ago.
And.
Wanted to share some of the results with you so far. I think I started this about two and a half months ago. I've been going three times a week. Excuse me, for. For that time. And in the first month, there's a lot of resistance, a lot of, you know, a lot of kind of getting used to the soreness and that sort of thing. But as I've progressed, it's become easier to manage. And then about a month ago, we started a Fusion Fitness nutrition program. And the thing I've always struggled with with the gym in the past is, you know, you start going to the gym and then suddenly you've got to start changing your diet and you're sore and you're hungry. And so this coach was really great because he said, look, just turn up and start. Do the first month, and then we'll look into nutrition later.
And so we started this nutrition program, and in a nutshell, it's counting calories but also protein intake. And after about two weeks, it started to get a lot easier. So the point I'm trying to make is that anything you do in business, in life that is new to you.
Takes a bit of, like, resistance to overcome. Now, I've been doing this for two and a half months. I just weighed in yesterday. I've been doing. Doing the nutrition focus for. For four weeks, and I've dropped five kilograms. That's 11 pounds in four weeks. And I still had pizza last week. I still had some chocolate. And the point is, is that I didn't think that was possible. But because I've gone through the right coaching program and had the right information in a very short space of time, I have discovered that it is possible. And not only have I changed my diet, but I'm actually eating lots of food that I enjoy, and none of it feels like I'm having to kind of go without. And the big shift has been in the amount of protein I'm eating now. It's working for me. But I thought this was an interesting analogy because, A, I like to be really open about what's going on in my life, I don't have everything figured out. But when I look at coaching clients and I look at some of the breakthroughs they have.
Oftentimes we can have really quite dramatic results. And, you know, I've been looking to try and drop my weight and get healthy for probably 10 years. I have not been this weight for four years and I've tried everything on my own to get it to work, and it has failed. But as soon as I committed to a coaching program with someone who was an expert, I suddenly took all my advice from that one person and no longer was confused by mixed signals. And I think what happens in business is people can have a lot of advisors and a lot of places that they get advice from, but sometimes that can end up confusing you because bits of information come from different sources. And it's not that you can't necessarily deduce and make decisions based on that for yourself. But what I found was working with Matt at Fusion Fitness, I was able to have one source of information and it was really simple and he's implemented a lot of different things, but it's not been that much hard work. And if I keep going like this, I'm going to hit my target way in a couple of months. Now, the reason I'm sharing that with you is a. Because I'm pretty proud of it. And it was just a question of discipline and structure and focus and a commitment. And so I believe very strongly that if your business isn't doing what you want it to be doing just now, and you've been trying to do lots of different things for a number of years, it's quite possible that is the definition of madness. Doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result. And it could be that getting involved in something like the VBA might just unlock potential that you have been trying to work on for yourself for such a long time now. Is it going to be uncomfortable? Yes. Is it going to be hard work? Yes. Is it going to feel like you're out of your depth sometimes? Yes. However, there's also an incredible support group. We just had an incredible call with our members and this call that we do on the final Monday or Tuesday of the month, it's Monday. If you're in the U.S. it's Tuesday. It's if you're in Australia.
And that call we talk about what is working now. And on today's call, we had a team member who, who's having an issue with, with a salesperson, a process that they're trying to iron out. We had someone else asking a question about, you know, do subscription packages work and, and how do they work and what are the pitfalls. And we had, we had a member of the VBA who said that we tried it before we did this, this is what happened. This blew out.
So we had some incredible conversations around that with another client who has, has a, has a manufacturing client. He's dealing with five different people in the organization and they're a bit disorganized and he was trying to figure out how you could make life easier for them. So we were able to iron out a few things there and just really this call, it's such a powerful call because we have people sharing what has worked for them and not we have another client who just literally removed himself from, from a situation that wasn't very constructive and it was a significant multiple six figure deal. But he felt like it wasn't the right fit for his company. And so, you know, having that board of directors to access on a weekly basis is one of the huge advantages of the video business accelerator. And we are, you know, I'm very proud of the group. They're a very committed, open, vulnerable, supportive group. And I just, I like to talk about it because it's, I like to keep repeating, you know, if you're sitting listening to this, thinking I'm trying to figure this out myself, there is a solution, there is a solution to fix it. You know, we can have a chat and see if this is the right fit for you. Have a chat about your business, talk through some ideas, see where you are at and where you need to be. And if I think I can help, I've got a couple of different ways, two or three different ways in which we can work together. And so if that is you, then I really encourage you to lob onto the website@denleny.com click on, book a call, schedule a time with me. Let's have a chat, see if it's the right fit for you. Because my mission is to help video businesses worldwide to scale and be able to spend more time with the family and not be involved in the day to day operations. And that is what I want to achieve for you. But obviously there has to be a degree of commitment from you. You simply can't figure this stuff out for yourself and hope that one day it'll all work itself out. In the same way that I was kidding myself that if I just tried these different diets or cycled more or you know, one friend would be like, you Just got a cycle every day. So I'd cycle every day and I still wasn't losing weight. I've got another friend who's like, I'm not go on a keto diet. That's the secret. The fact is, I needed to coach. I needed someone who I could trust, who understood my situation and gave me the guidance and information I needed to make the right decisions. And I'm down 5 kilos, which is just phenomenal. So I just want to share that with you guys. You know, I'm really proud of that. But also to draw the comparison to your business is that if you're sitting and you're not getting the results in your business, then maybe it's time to ask for some help. Ask yourself this. Has owning your own video business been everything you dreamed it would be when you first got started? It might be hard to admit, but think about whether you're genuinely achieving everything you set out to when you made that decision to grab the camera and go it alone. Are you really working less? Are you really earning more? And are you really in control? Chances are you're bloody good at what you do, but you're having to work like a dog, 70 plus hours a week, whether it's filming, editing, marketing, or any of the other jobs that come with being the big boss of your own video company. When you're managing projects, constantly searching out for new clients and worrying about cash flow. So it's easy to lose sight of the bigger picture or make real progress. Let's face it, that stress is the last thing you need when you're trying to run a profitable company that supports you and the people you care about. Truth is, a business that provides financial, professional and personal freedom really is achievable. But maybe you've got that nagging feeling that you're overworked, lacking stability, and struggling to get to where you really want to be right now. It could be that you just don't know how to make a positive change on your own. So I created the Video Business Accelerator coaching programs to really supercharge your video business. With these unique coaching programs, you'll learn all the tools you need to get complete confidence in the success of your video business.
