G', day, guys. Dan, Lenny here with this week's shorty for the How To Scale Video Business podcast. It's Tuesday 10th November.
We're week 46 of 2020, which means there's not much longer to go till we get to the end of the year and a fresh start for next year. But today I want to talk about results.
Results from putting in the, being persistent, results from never giving up and certainly not letting anything out there affect what's going on with you and your business.
So I wanted to just share some insights that my clients have been experiencing in the last few weeks. And we did a planning session last week and we start that session by asking the question, what have we got to celebrate? What have we got to review and look back on and what are our wins? And, and I guess, shit you not. The first three people that spoke, the first guy, I won't mention the names for privacy, but the first person said, well, we just closed a $45,000 a month. Second person said, We've just received a $35,000 check.
And the third person said, yeah, we just received a $30,000 check and we're due another one next month.
And that's just from, you know, working hard, working focused, implementing systems, being consistent, being diligent, showing up every week and accepting responsibility for their own success and failure. And those people who are at that position now, that's $110,000 of revenue just in from three clients and we have many more stories.
And, and, and then I shared this with one of my other clients on a call last week and he was like, oh man, you know, I don't know how I'll ever get to that stage. And actually Derek's going to be on the, on the podcast on Thursday. And he just messaged me this morning and said, man, you know, after a call last week, I was thinking about the fact that the other guys had such a, an amazing month. And I was like, wow, I wonder how I'm ever going to get there. And he said, and then like within two days, an inquiry came in for a $50,000 project to shoot a web series in LA. And he said it just blew his mind. He just could not believe that by focusing on it and, and implementing the strategies that we absolutely, you know, drum into people week in, week out in the video business accelerator, he just hit, it's like, it's like fifty thousand dollar project. And excuse me, Derek.
Was, was in a real pickle back when Covert started, you know, he, he got, he got slammed he went to zero, built everything back up, got him back up some six figure projects, five figure projects, was on target to triple his business this year. And then the project comes and absolutely blows everything out the water. And so I want to really kind of, I was starting to think about this, you know, why is it that.
Some clients.
Go out in any crisis and they are able to make it happen to win, to never see any object as something that can't be dug through, gone under, gone over, gone round. And there are other people who see external factors as the reason they're not successful. So it might be the election, it might be coronavirus, it might be any number of different reasons. And so really I've come to the conclusion it's a mindset. It's a mindset and having the right support and the right systems, building a business is, is, is a discipline. It's a discipline that takes time and effort. And the only thing that's certain in business is that you're going to hit object obstacles and you're going to find yourself getting kicked in the ribs and you're going to find things failing regularly. You know, any business owners who's been around for any length of time knows that the primary default position in business is one of rejection and, and, and defeat and, and losing. But it's what makes us stronger. It's what, it's white when, when, when a leg breaks and a bone breaks. When it heals, it heals with a callus and that callus heals the bone stronger. So every time we get kicked in the guts in a business situation, it's, there's one of two ways you can handle it. One is you can simply accept defeat and feel sorry for yourself or you can get back up and go, right, what did I learn from that? I've now got some hindsight, I've got some perspective. How can I move forward and win? And you know, we've had a number of stories like this recently in a time when other video production companies I see on social complaining, they've had no work or complaining that things are hard. And yet inside our video business accelerator, we're seeing a different story. We're seeing people succeeding, we're seeing people win big months.
We've got clients who, who are at capacity and they're having to hire more team and they've got the cash flow to do it and they're actually, you know, looking for more support. So I want you to ask yourself the question, where do you sit listening to this show? If you've listened to for a while. You know, you've got all the information. If you're not getting the results, why do you think that is? You know, do you think if you keep doing what you're doing, you're going to get a different result? Or do you think maybe you need some help? Because the guys that I'm working with just now, you know, they are implementing, and in some cases, you know, some people have been implementing this stuff for six, seven, eight months and have gone from virtually zero or, you know, 10 grand a month to 30, 40 grand a month and, and are now scaling up because they've got predictability, they've got, they've got a perspective, they've got certainty. And that is because we have a system. We have a system for how to build and scale a video production company. And it's not easy, but it's an awful lot easier when you're supported by other business owners who are in the same boat, those that can support you. It's a tribe, you know, people have got your back who you can always turn to for help. And I'm really proud of the results my guys are getting. So, you know, in the space of two weeks, I. And these are only people that have actually told me their numbers, there's $150,000 of new work or payment come in, and that's from four members out of 26. So, you know, we are, we are winning at this game in a particularly challenging time. And I'm very proud of the members and the work they put in. And we are a family and we are, we are a tribe. And, you know, I think it's important to share successes and, and if this success grates you, that's okay. Because, you know, to succeed in life, it's good to polarize. If it upsets you, if it bothers you, then ask yourself why. And ask yourself, what are you not doing? That's meaning you're not getting the same results because the opportunity is there to achieve the same results. If you're willing to be putting in the work, if you're. If you're committed and serious about your business and you want to put in the work. This is not an easy journey. But I'm seeing results with my members. And nothing pleases me more than hearing someone excited to say, I've just won a $30,000 project or a $40,000 project or a $50,000 project. And let me be clear, these are small businesses. These are one man band businesses who scale their team up as they need. These are not people with offices and big teams. Some of them have offices, some of them have, have one team member. But I'm seeing increasingly that it's possible to run a multi six figure, profitable video business with one or two people if you have the right, have the right resources, if you have the right people around you and when you bring the right people in, you have the right systems to give them so that they can actually make the decisions and execute and allow you to be, you know, the genius, whatever it is you do. So I just wanted to share that today. I feel very empowered by the fact that we've seen such incredible results with our members. And so if you are sitting listening to this, wondering, you know, what's going on inside the vba, then I do encourage you to, to reach out. I'm not difficult to find. Send me a message and say, hey Dan, look, I'm curious, I'd like to know a bit more because you know, we were doing something right and especially in a time when, when people are out there struggling, we're finding the opposite is true inside the vba. And so I feel very proud to kind of share that with you because it's there. It's there. If you're in a position where you want to have a conversation and we feel we're a good fit and we can help you, then you two could have the same. But it is going to take some work, it's going to take some investment and you have to be willing to put some time in. But I mean, you know, if in six, seven, eight months time you could be pulling in a twenty, thirty thousand dollar project, isn't that worthwhile? Anyway, guys, got Derek on the podcast on Thursday who's going to share a bit of his story and I'll talk to you then.
