G', day, guys. It's Den here. Hope you're doing well today. It's.
Coming up for the end of the financial year here in Australia. So just speaking off Mike now, that's not very helpful. Just trying to see what date it is today. And I've completely. 29th of June. Wow. So, yeah, 30th of June tomorrow, end of the financial year here in Australia. And interestingly, it's halfway through the year here for the rest of the world. And Australia, of course, it's just that being the end of financial year, it's a slightly different focus here for us as we wrap up this financial year. We just came off an amazing coaching call with our members and today we were talking about how to manage a personal budget and we had a template for that so that you can really get clear on all of your expenses. And Sammy, one of our clients, said, you know, he'd read somewhere that if you take a. The cost of a cup of coffee a day, which here in Australia is about $4.50, and you put that every day into and, you know, an index 500 fund, you know, an index fund of your top 500 companies and wherever you live, that in 20 years worth like a million bucks. And it blew my mind. So today we were talking about tracking, tracking personal expenses and really getting clear on what they look like on an annual basis, but also monthly and a weekly basis. And then the second part of today's session, which was absolutely phenomenal.
They were both great. But one of our members, Ben, has just recently shared his quoting template. And one of the most powerful things about the VBA is the quality of the members that we have. I've been threatened to get Ben on the podcast for some time. He's finally agreed. He's a bit shy, and I want to get him in to sort of share some of his journey with you as well, because it's been phenomenal. But he shared this incredible quoting template with us a few weeks ago. Now, how this happened was one of our members in the States was trying to work out a particular problem. And while we were on a call, we got discussing and then Ben shared his template and the rest of the group were like, oh, my God, this is incredible. Can you share this with us? And because we foster an environment of abundance, everyone in the group is really open and shares, you know, really cool stuff. Like Caleb has shared his sort of statement of works before. That's been really powerful. Today he shared how they're doing that and proposify and it was really Powerful. And so we went through and broke down this quoting costing template that Ben has shared. And I've got to tell you, it is phenomenal. It's based on inputting all of your costs and then adjusting a margin percentage across the whole thing. And that has been, you know, really quite a phenomenal way to very quickly put together costings or projects and know exactly what your margin is. And one of the really cool things about it is that if you need to get a budget into a particular price bracket, like, you know, maybe you're coming in at 17 grand, for example, and it needs to be 15. This, this template allows you to just adjust your overall margin in, in the click of a mouse and bring that budget in. And what's then really cool is you can export. There's a kind of a business facing tab and then there's a client facing tab that you can take that data and put it into something like Proposify, which is just incredible because it just speeds that whole process up. But you know exactly how much you're making and of course you're adding a production fee on there as well. So it's a great way to really promote, you know, solid business process. So that's something that's just been released into the group. And one of the most amazing things that I'm most proud of of the community, and it is a community.
Is that people are so willing to share, you know, on that one call with like 12 people on a call today, and everyone was sharing their insights to how they do quotes slightly differently. And so you get this perspective, you know, you got one client who works very much in the agency world and they strip down their quotes and keep it very basic, just with prices and other clients like full detail. But what is really great about this approach to quoting is that you are able to.
You know, have all the information to hand. And stas, one of our clients said, oh, it was great. You know, he came on a call a few weeks ago and he was looking at a job that was going to be about eight and a half thousand dollars. We had a conversation, we ran through this quoting process and the job ended up $22,000. And the client just said, yep, no problem, let's send the invoice through. So, you know, when people often ask me, you know, what's the value of coaching? What's the value of being in a group like this? Because it is a paid group, but you know, there's an investment. But it's that one phone call, one member comes with a challenge Somebody else suggests something within the facility of the environment we created. People feel very safe to reveal these things. And he goes from an eight and a half thousand dollars project to a $22,000 project. One phone call. And that is not uncommon on these weekly coaching calls. We have weekly group calls. One is at 8am in the morning here in Australia and one at seven. That makes it kind of like the late call for the UK is like 11pm but that's okay because we have a second call which works out to be, you know, that's like 11pm on Monday or you know, 10am on Tuesday. And in the U.S. depending on where you are, anywhere from 3 in the afternoon through to 7, 8 at night. And so there's, there's two options to jump on calls. And we just have these incredible forums where, you know, whenever, when everyone joins the program, they sign a confidentiality agreement so people feel like they can be really open. And you know, I just think it's so incredible that. And it sounds weird to say, cause it's my group, but I mean this like without any kind of ego. It's like I'm so proud of the guys in the group because they just, they're just so kind of willing to share and everyone does well as a result. You know, there's that expression, a rising tide lifts all ships. And we have this phenomenal environment. I mean, I regard my clients as friends and I don't say that lightly. You know, we become friends because we spend so much time together. And now, you know, we are very much there to focus on building business. But it's done in a way that, you know, when I was growing my business, I felt very alone. And when I did join coaching groups, I was the only video guy. And I'd always thought I'd get lots of work, but it never worked out that way. But there's something about being in an environment where everyone's sharing the same stuff. You know, the reason I started the VBA was because I wanted an environment that would support me. You know, selfishly. I wanted to create an environment that would be very focused on business growth, very focused on mindset, very focused on abundance and moving forward together. And you know, so many of the members have been with me over a year and there's nothing tying them in every month. You know, this is an ongoing monthly program and, and it, so it makes me very proud that, that we have this, this kind of ongoing membership, really strong members. And you know, I'm very proud of every single person in the group. And it's a small enough group that I know everyone pretty well. And so we have these incredible calls every week, which means that, you know, there's, there's basically 110 calls a year that you can jump on. And that is, that's important. You know, it's, it's important because that, that constant support and that constant accountability drives everyone along. So, yeah, I'm very, very proud of the group and I'm gushing a bit there because I've just finished my end of financial year. We've had a really strong year despite everything that's gone on. And I attribute that to this. Simply, this is that about a year ago, I decided to stop kind of, you know, worrying too much about trying to be on every social media platform. I know we post content across the platform because that's. My wonderful assistant. Milka does that for me.
But my focus just became my clients. I just went, how can I help my clients achieve more success? And how can I put all of my energy into that? And that's what I did. And as a result, our business has grown enormously this year. And we've really done that through this podcast, through attracting people who are ready, who are of the right mindset, where they want to grow, have predictability, have a systemized business, and be part of a community that helps them to grow and scale and have all the success they ever dreamed of. So very proud of that, guys. And yeah, hope you have an awesome week. Ask yourself this. Has owning your own video business been everything you dreamed it would be when you first got started? It might be hard to admit, but think about whether you're genuinely achieving everything you set out to when you made that decision to grab the camera and go it alone. Are you really working less? Are you really earning more? And are you really in control? Chances are you're bloody good at what you do. But you're having to work like a dog, 70 plus hours a week.
