G' day, guys. Welcome to this shorty. It's actually the week 10, this is the 2nd 3rd of March that we're releasing this episode to you. And this week we're going to do something a little bit different. I am actually going to reveal to you our top 10 most downloaded podcasts of 2019. I saw another podcast to do this and thought it'd be a really great thing to share. So I want to kick straight off and reveal to you what in fact you have been listening to. What are the topics that have been resonating the most with you and help you to see what's working for you guys as listeners. I think it's always curious to see what.
Topics are popular. So we'll kick straight off. I want to do this in reverse order. So at number 10, we've got how to succeed with a niche with Jeff Anderson. Jeff Anderson runs a video production here in business here in Sydney and actually did two podcasts with us. His second podcast just slipped out to number 11, which was video partnerships. Both terrific episodes. You should definitely go on and check them out. And so, you know, I've been a big advocate of sticking to a niche and, you know, really.
Making sure you talk to one market at a time. And Jeff is the absolute master of this. So you make sure you go and check out this episode here at number nine, it's yours truly in an interview that was done with me by Charlie Valor called then Unleashed part one. And this topic at number nine was why so many businesses stagnate or fail.
At number eight, we've got Mr. Ben Amos, who's a video strategist, talking about the new video paradigm. And Ben goes into some detail about the importance of, you know, video strategy as part of your video business and not simply just making the videos. So it's a great episode there.
That I think is definitely worth a re listen if you are keen to investigate, you know, video strategy and how you can help clients not only make video, but actually help them to distribute that video as well. Now at number seven, we have got Mr. Matt Smolin, which is how to scale from a freelancer to a team of four. Matt runs Balloon Tree Productions in Melbourne and they focus on kind of light hearted comedy and, and videos with a sense of fun. And Matt actually did a couple of podcasts with us. His second podcast is actually down called being authentic with your content. That was done about number 13, but this episode made the top 10. So nice one, Matt. A great episode here in how to adapt your mindset when scaling Your business from that freelancer to taking that first member of the team on and then you know, obviously progressing and adding more you scale because of course, you know, you can't build a business alone. There's only so much you can do on your own. And when you find yourself kind of doing things again and again, it's time to start looking for extra support. At number six, we have got video marketing and measuring ROI with Chris Schwager. Chris runs Ridge Films here in Sydney with his business partner and is Australia's most reviewed video production company on Google reviews. I think they've got 150 reviews or something like crazy like that. Chris is a fabulous guy. I met him on LinkedIn, we've sparked great friendship. He's been on the podcast twice. We hope to get him back. In this particular episode we had a great conversation about video marketing and how he sells video marketing, not just video. So really quite an interesting theme here in the podcast about, you know, how you can take your video business and expand it, offer other services, not just make the video. And Chris has got some great clients on subscription who have video marketing services for him. And Chris is very prolific on LinkedIn as well. So check out some of his content. He's very, very active and shares a great deal of great information.
At number five, we have 17 lessons from the accelerator Mastermind. This was an episode we did where we actually broke down just one of our events that we held at the video business accelerator and actually extracted 17 lessons. And so if you're thinking about, you know, ways in which you can scale your business and different methods and approaches, well, we basically give you away. We give away the 17 lessons that we took away from the Mastermind and you can just listen to them and start applying them in your own business. And of course if you want some help then please do reach out and we'll have a chat and see if it's a good fit. You know, basically what I do in my, my business is I'm a business coach. We run a group coaching scenario and so we employ the principles of a business mastermind but with the kind of hands on, almost one to one coaching in the weekly calls. So you get the benefit of kind of attention in your business but the support of a group. So it's a really terrific group and I'm really proud of it. And we've got businesses all over the world. Boston, Chicago, New Jersey, Birmingham, Alabama, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, you know, London, Manchester. We're all over the place and we're growing all the time. At number four, we've got Den Unleashed part two. It's not your fault. Nobody taught you how to run a business. This is a great interview that I did with Charlie Valor from Valor Media. And Charlie asked me, really, he turned the tables on me and he interviewed me to find out, you know, my perspective on business. And these episodes were really, really well received. So that's there at number four and then up at number three. Why I start start work at 2am every day with Simeon Quarry. Simeon is a very enigmatic filmmaker, very prolific in the uk, works incredibly hard. And when we record this podcast, it was 2am and Simeon has a view that, you know, you have to do what you have to do to get stuff done. And incredibly interesting guy, he did another episode with us.
Which was, you know, why being too creative could scare off clients. And Both those episodes 44 and 45, were really, really fabulous. So some great opportunities to go back and listen to them as well. And if you make sure and actually go to the website@denleny.com where this episode is hosted, I'll actually hyperlink back to each episode so you can go there and check out the episodes. And don't forget, there's also a free book, which is the filmmaker's guide to budgets and quotes that increase profit margin on Productions by 20 to 30% instantly, which I'm giving away on the website just now. So make sure you go and grab that. There's no catch. You just need to put your email address in there so we can send it to you. And yeah, that's that. So Simmy inquiries there at number three. So he made the top three at number, number two, good friend and colleague, Ryan Spanger. Now, Ryan did two episodes with us called the Video Production business manifesto. Part one made it number two. In fact, he is also. His part two also was very close to the top 10. And his part two was equally interesting. So he's got these 20 lessons he's learned over the last 20 years of running a video business, and he shared them in any video business manifesto. So number two there, episode 47, was Ryan's first part of the video business manifesto. And then at number one. And I'm thrilled that this person is at number one because she's really, really very lovely. And she came and spoke at one of our events and then we did a podcast afterwards. Number one is using LinkedIn for lead gener with Emily Wallace. Now, what's interesting about Emily is Emily is actually a buyer's agent in the property market. So some people are like, well, why are you getting her on to talk about LinkedIn when we're talking about video production businesses? And that's because, you know, there's always something to learn, especially from other markets. And so what I did was I got Emily on and she did an incredible presentation for our members and on how to connect on LinkedIn and then came on the podcast and she was very kind to share insights as to what's working for her. And I think what's always interesting in any kind of business environment is you should look at other businesses and ask the question, how can I apply that in my business? And that's what we did with this episode. So there you go. Number one. Emily was the number one podcast of last year, episode 49. I'm excited that I was able to put this compilation together. And did you have any particular favorites that weren't mentioned? Please let me know. And as always, I love to connect with you on LinkedIn. If you haven't yet connected with me, I love to be able to find out and build a relationship with you and find out what we can do more of what are the topics that, you know, you like and it'll be interesting when we do this next year. What topics are. So the topics issue all seem to be very much about, you know, niche video marketing, video strategy.
Some interesting lessons from the accelerator there, you know, and, and, and really insights from running a video business for the last 10 years with 20 years from Ryus Banger and of course LinkedIn. Huge topic for us. So guys, I hope you enjoyed that. I certainly enjoyed putting the compilation together and if you've got some particular favorites, do let me know.
