A single-speaker instructional monologue advising homeowners to properly seal crawl spaces before using a dehumidifier. The speaker warns that merely laying plastic over moist dirt, using spotty foam sealing, or placing a dehumidifier in an unsealed space can trap moisture or be ineffective, potentially worsening problems.

You need to seal that crawl space. You need to put a dehumidifier in that crawl space after it's sealed. Now when I say sealed, I'm not talking about the plastic the terminus guy wants to put under your house. I'm not talking about sealing it with some foam and saying okay, it's sealed. Not talking about putting a dehumidifier under the house and then not sealing it. That's not going to solve the problem. That's going to make more of a problem. If you put plastic on top of the dirt that already is moist and has water now, there's nowhere for that moisture to go. You're causing more of a problem. And if you put a dehumidifier in a place that's not sealed, you're dehumidifying the state of North Carolina, which is going to be hard to do at your little house with your little dehumidifier. So it's not going to work. Do not just install a dehumidifier because that's not the answer.
