Eliminate Germs with UVC in your HVAC system

Derek Cole explains how UVC light kills germs and bacteria in HVAC systems, a technology hospitals already use. Indoor air in sealed homes can be 2-5 times worse than outside air, trapping VOCs from paints and carpets. A thin layer of dirt on coils cuts efficiency by 21 percent, so UVC prevents microbial growth while saving energy.

The indoor air quality in your house. The indoor air quality in your house is important, is vital, and it can have a direct impact on your overall health. Heating and air, which is, you know, HVAC, the business we do, we've been doing here for, for a long time. Um, it circulates all there in your house. All your air has to come through the HVAC system. So we spend— today we spend 90% of our time indoors. 90%. And the EPA says indoor air is 2 to 5 times worse than outside air. Why is that possible? We have built our homes to be energy efficient, which means they're tight as far as, uh, letting them breathe. Uh, you know, some of the older homes— I've even had a freeze going through, uh, some of the older homes. So we got more energy efficient, which is good. The problem is we're starting to trap VOCs in the house— volatile organic compounds, things that off-gas. From paint and carpet, uh, pressed, pressed wood with, with glues and stuff. All this is off-gassing, and all this is going to the indoor air environment, but nothing can happen to it because the homes are so tight. You're breathing the air in. That's why it's worse than outside air. One thing that is present outside that is not present inside unless you make it happen is UVC light. UVC light, uh, UVC stands for Ultraviolet C and has a shorter wavelength than UVA or UVB light. Those kind of lights give you a suntan when you go outside. UVC is more effective at destroying germs, viruses, and bacteria. It disrupts the genetic material in those microorganisms, rendering them unable to reproduce or cause illness. UV-C light can kill up to 99% of germs in the air, including the flu and other bacteria. Hospitals have been using this technology for years. Um, I don't know if you've seen any videos, you can Google it, Google. But to sterilize the room, they even have these little, uh, UVC robots that they go into the room. Of course, it's, it's not safe to look at the light, but they go into a room, nobody's in there, it opens up, boom, bathes the room bathes the room in UVC light and kills and destroys germs, bacteria. It's very sanitary, and one of the best parts of it is it's natural. There's, there's no chemicals, there's no sprays, there's— you're not spraying anything in there, you're not spraying anything on the surface. UVC light can handle all the germs and the bacteria up to 99%. Naturally, it's naturally occurring in nature. It's outside, it's outside every day. UVC light is powerful, but we can install them in your system. So when the air travels in your system, all the air in your home eventually comes through this system if everything is as tight is sealed as it's supposed to be. So as it comes through your system, we can then treat that air with UVC light. We can treat the surface of the indoor unit with UVC light so nothing can grow on it. A big problem, especially in Southeast North Carolina, is growth. Um, you know, a lot of our systems are in crawl spaces or outside If it's a package unit, well, it's hot, it gets hot, it gets humid. Uh, the coil is, you know, taking that heat over, over that coil and removing the heat. The byproduct of removing that heat, uh, because it's so humid here, is removing water from the system. Well, when you have water sitting in that damp, dark, cool place growth tends to happen. So, uh, UVC can also solve that problem because you can shine the light on that coil so things cannot grow on it. Nothing can grow when UVC is present and on that coil stationary. But you're also treating the air as it comes by that light at, what, 450 feet per minute? It's pretty fast. So you need a strong light that can handle these germs and bacteria flying through there at a very high rate. Our product, the coal scrubber, the air scrubber, um, can handle that type of environment. It's something that we're very proud of. Has a lifetime warranty. If you've, you know, never seen this product before um, you know, send me a text. I'll be glad to send you some info on it. 910-463-5811. 910-463-5811. That comes directly to me on my phone. Um, you can text the number directly to get to me. But if you're wanting to know about these products, I can send you the information. But it's amazing. The natural UVC products can handle growth, germs, bacteria. You can start protecting your system from this, from the growth, from the buildup, because EPA also says that 1/20th of an inch of dirt can affect your efficiency by 21%. So If you protect that surface, keep it clean, and you're protecting the surface, you're also protecting your health and protecting the air. All these things can happen with a single UVC installation in your HVAC system. Something very important, uh, something that is a simple solution to a huge health from. Um, again, the EPA says indoor health is 2 to 5 times worse than outdoor air. So you can make your system more efficient and your health more efficient by installing these kind of products in your system.
