A short YouTube monologue by Derek Cole offering practical winter thermostat advice: set your thermostat to whatever temperature makes you personally comfortable rather than fixating on the numeric setting. The speaker shares a brief personal anecdote about lowering the thermostat to save energy, becoming uncomfortably cold, and then raising it again—using that experience to justify prioritizing comfort at home.
It is winter time, it is chilly this morning. I get the question a lot and I want to talk about it here. What temperature should I keep my thermostat at? I get that question quite a bit, and the answer I always give wherever you're comfortable. I was thinking the other night I was. I was at home and I tried to get my thermostat down to save energy, like everybody. But then I, like, started shivering and getting cold, and I'm like, take your own advice, it's not worth it. So I bumped up the temperature, got warm, good to go. So do not pay so much attention to the number on the thermostat. Pay attention to what makes you comfortable. Whatever number that is, go with it. You work hard, you deserve comfort at home.
