Go Ahead and Switch The Thermostat

Derek Cole recommends setting your thermostat to auto mode as temperatures shift between cool mornings and warm afternoons. Auto mode switches between heating and cooling automatically, so you don't have to fiddle with it all day. The energy cost bump is worth the comfort.

Go ahead and make the switch. Make the switch on your thermostat. It is that time of year of the spring, fixing to be warm. We have a few more days of, you know, cool evenings, kind of warmer days before it gets into 80s and 70s during the day. So go ahead and either make a note or or make it to switch now on your thermostat to make sure it is set on auto. I would set my thermostat on auto. If you want to, go and switch it to cool. You're probably not going to need too much heat these cooler nights, but just in case, I love keeping my thermostat on auto. That way, if it needs heat activates. If it needs cooling, it activates. It's always a good place to be, not having to play with that thermostat and go back and forth depending on the weather, because, you know, it's gonna be stuffy when I get home if it's warmer. It's gonna be chilly when I get up if it's cooler. I like to be comfortable And you work hard. You work hard. You deserve to be comfortable in your home. So don't worry about, um, you know, energy usage, the energy bills. I mean, we're talking about what, a couple, a couple of dollars, maybe, possibly, maybe a little more now today than ever. Maybe it's a little bit more. But I mean, what are we talking about? You know, sweating it out or putting on more blankets? So keep your home comfortable. Go and make the switch. Switch your thermostat over to auto if it's on heating, or make a note to switch on cooling when it starts getting warmer pretty soon. So make that note. Go ahead and do it. You will thank me later because you're not having to go back and forth or remember, did I do this to the thermostat? Did I set it right? Even better, on every installation we do with the new system, and we can offer this when we come to your home for the Summer Cool Spectacular or things like that, we can offer you a Wi-Fi thermostat. Even better, it's an app you put on your phone. No matter where you are, as long as you have Wi-Fi at home and Wi-Fi where you are, you can access it, access the auto feature, and change the temperature whenever you want. Actually, the biggest— it's funny because the biggest One of the biggest uses we've seen, you know, I was thinking about this when we started implementing it. I was thinking, you know, people, you know, at work or on the way home can adjust it and have it ready to go, save some time, be comfortable when they get home. But the biggest use is actually people at home using the app versus going to the thermostat and looking at it or changing it. So that was, that was a discovery we made pretty soon after, you know, folks were just, you know, staying put or staying in a separate room. So versus going to the thermostat, they're actually going on their, on their iPhone or smartphone, iPad, to change the temperature. But It's the time of year, you know, cool days, cool nights, warm days, some cooler days, but cool nights, warm days. And before you know it, it's gonna be summertime. So go ahead and activate that cooling and go ahead and make that change on your thermostat so you're not surprised when it gets 80-something degrees and you need cooling and nothing happens.
