Derek Cole explores what God's holiness means through biblical imagery of the temple shaking at His presence. He calls for Christians to recover reverence and obedience in worship, arguing the church has lost sight of how awesome and fearful God truly is.

Peep the text. It said the foundations of the temple and the doorposts of the temple shook when they heard that the Lord was holy, it says when they cried out about the immense nature of God's holiness, a building moved when it heard that God was holy. When it heard that the Lord was holy, the building moved in the presence of God. When you hear that the Lord is holy, how much more should we be moved in our soul?
What a shame that a building has more revelation than people who call them themselves Christians. It's more than a song. It's more than words on a page. I'm talking about the supreme character of the one you call Lord and Savior. That if we really believe what the Word said about him, we would treat him with greater honor. We would treat him with greater respect. He would speak and we would tremble. We will feel his presence and worship Him. We will read his words and be quick to obey. Man what the nation is dealing with right now in the church is a lack of reverence for the God who is.
