Why are HVAC repairs so expensive? You have a professional technician coming to your home in a truck stocked with thousands and hundreds or thousands, hundreds and thousands of parts, and to have a trained professional roll up to your driveway with that part costs quite a bit of money. Because the technician has been trained for years, spent time training to look at your system, diagnose what's wrong, and then get the part off of their truck that's already in stock, get the part off of their truck and fix your system. Some folks go to Amazon, some folks go online and say, hey, I can get this, uh, say capacitor I can get this capacitor for like $30 on Amazon, but you're charging me like $150. Well, everything we install has to have a warranty, all right? So you have a 1-year parts and labor warranty. Then the technician has to know what he's doing and hook it up right. If he makes a mistake or she makes a mistake, we obviously have to fix that mistake. There is no 'Oh, I blew a transformer, uh, it's going to cost this much.' No, if you make a mistake and blow a transformer, then you replace the transformer at no cost to the customer to get them back up and going. That is what being a professional is all about. So the reason it costs a little bit more to have a pro install it is, first of all, you get a warranty, and second of all, you have a professional working on your system to make sure that is not the only problem you're having is that capacitor. Yeah, you can get it from Amazon, you can get it online, but who's going to warranty it? Who's going to look after your system when things don't go right? Who's going to install it? Are you going to sell it? Be careful. Are you going to install it?. It might be as simple as, you know, hooking wires up like you think a thermostat is, but we've seen so many problems with thermostat wiring. So it's not as straightforward as you think. But the reason for the expense, there's a lot of overhead tied up with that technician. He or she has been trained. He or she is driving a van that gets, you know, 10 miles to the gallon maybe. With stock on their truck that's been paid, bought, and now just carrying around to serve you, the customer, when we get to your house. So yes, it is a little more expensive. Why is HVAC expensive anyway? Well, yeah, you have to be a trained professional. Now, we can't dictate to train and carry your— and Linux, and what the price of the product is, we just have to pass that on to the, to the client. But to have a trained professional come to your house, it is a little more money than the Amazon person dropping off a capacitor.
