Short instructional talk advising newcomers to learn ductwork hands-on in the install department, observe proper installation, and experiment with dampers during system startups to understand airflow and pressure effects in new-construction houses.
Chapters
The best thing that can happen to especially newer people coming into this field is to go into the install department and learn ductwork. See how it's installed properly. See how you know air flow by your dampers affect in the house. Once you can understand that and you can visualize what's going on, it doesn't take a lot but understanding how and what you can actually on a startup, play with it some. When you got some of those startups that you got time on, some of your new construction houses that you might be starting up, you can actually play with a little bit. When you have time, see what it does. Go in there and close the damp rock. See how it does with your pressures outside. You'll see changes in it and it'll help you when you run into those situations.
