OUTCOME | Derek 22

Derek Cole walks through his afternoon schedule, from morning meetings to a 7:50 pm finish. He notes franchisees run stores better than company employees because they have skin in the game, and emphasizes that networking and consistent effort matter.

Alright, another day over with. It's 8 o'clock, headed home. See you, farmers. Hey guys, Derek Cole here. The main problem we see any season is dirt. Headed to Pioneer for a few meetings. It's, uh, 3:15 PM. Uh, sorry, we're just now starting with this, but, uh, had a lot of, uh, internal things to do in the office. Meetings and some marketing. And before I hit the road here, I have a meeting at another business and then a mixer tonight. Mixer. Sorry, no alcohol for me. I'm on medication, can't have it. All right, leaving one meeting, headed to the next one. It's 5:30, so I don't want to last for a bit. I was talking to someone recently too about— obviously we're a franchise and they have company-owned stores, and we're talking about difference between company-owned stores and franchisees. And the franchisees always seem to to do a little better management than company-owned stores historically. And, you know, the thing I said around that was, look, this, you know, like ours is a family-owned business. So at the end of the day, yes, we're a franchisee, but we also have a huge stake stake in the outcome of the game. So I don't think the company-owned side has that kind of responsibility, but we do as, you know, individual, independently owned businesses. So I think that's where some of the, um, that's where some of the gap is. You know, those managers don't have that kind of um, you know, uh, stake in the game as we do. So just a quick little thought on that, but I don't know, nothing proven, just, uh, an idea. All right, 7:50, done with the last meeting, getting some Chick-fil-A dinner, so it's gonna be good. It was good. I mean, there's a lot of people there at the event, so we gotta keep doing that and keep pushing. I think you see me here, and I'll be dying underneath my skin. Is all I see today.
