This is how the Bible literally saved a man's life. During World War II, a 21 year old corporal named William Devers saw his chaplain wounded in a battle. The chaplain reached out and gave him his Bible endeavors, took the Bible and put it in his shirt pocket. Even though he was agnostic and not really interested in God, he basically did it to appease the chaplain. Twenty minutes later, Devers was shot and he laid on the ground in piercing pain, but there was no blood. He realized that it was the Bible that shielded him from the bullet. Furthermore, when he took out the Bible, he saw that the bullet had stopped at Psalms 91:7 which says a thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come near you. May you keep your Bible close to your heart so it will shield you from the attack of the enemy.
