Derek Cole warns that HVAC equipment and labor costs are up this year because new systems must meet stricter efficiency standards and the labor market is tight. Get repairs or upgrades done now, before summer heat hits, or pay significantly more.

If you wait until the middle of the summer to address the issues, it's going to cost you more. Let me explain. With the prices going up, equipment has become more advanced. Newer systems are more advanced than what they used to be because there is more efficiency standards in place that they have to meet to get there. So everything costs more.
