Derek Cole explains why most HVAC systems break down: dust and dirt on coils act as insulators, forcing equipment to work harder. Changing filters and tuning systems before each season prevents failures and arcing in circuitry.
The main problem we see any season is dirt. Dirt is the biggest cause of most breakdowns so it goes back to changing your filter, checking your filter, make sure it's clean, tuned up before the season starts because most of the breakdowns we go to are dirt related.
You know when we deal with integrated circuitry in the studio you can actually create a chain like a, like a wire almost a connection with dust. Right. It can just the electricity and you can arc something out and blow something just because it was dirty.
Yeah, because heating and air is all about heat transfer. So if you have dust, dirt or anything on that coil it's trying to transfer heat, it is going to act as an insulator. It's going to prevent it from being as efficient as it usually is. So therefore it's harder to cool or harder to heat and then it's going to have to work harder and things are going to go out.
