Hey, this is Derrick Cole along with William Skipper, and we are The Comfort Experts, bringing you information to save you money on your home. Now today we're talking about HVAC equipment and energy efficiency. You've heard it before: what SEER is my unit? Do I need this many SEERs? What's going on with SEER? Skip, what in the world is SEER?
SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating. It is a formula that the government and the manufacturers came up with to really determine what your equipment energy efficiency rating is, to determine how efficient it is.
Right, so it's kind of like, if you want to relate it to a car, it's kind of like miles per gallon, right? That's right. So the higher the number, the higher the SEER, the more efficient it is, right? That's right. So on the same aspect for a car, I mean, the more efficient, the more miles per gallon, the more expensive up front. So same way here, heating and air equipment. I mean, the higher the number, the more of the investment you're going to have up front, but it will save you money in the long run. That's right. So if you have any questions about this, be glad to help you out. 910-534- 4462, or we even have a website, 1houraircarolinas.com. That's right. Thanks for coming, guys. See you next time.
