Hey, this is Derek Cole along with William Skipper, and we are The Comfort Experts. Today we're talking about finding the right contractor for you. So William, when they're out in the marketplace looking for somebody to do some work, how do they know which contractor to look for?
Well, a couple of things you need to look for is a contractor that has a good reputation in your community, somebody that can provide referrals to you for work they've done in the past. Also, Derek, they need to make sure that that contractor is licensed. Licensed and insured to make sure that they protect their self as the homeowner and their property when this contractor comes on site to do the work. And also, they need to find a contractor that can provide service after the sale or service on your warranty claims that you might possibly have in the future. Just try to protect yourself for future issues.
Yeah, we get quite a few of those phone calls this time of year going into the summer where Someone had something installed and the person they chose is not in business anymore. Yeah. And we don't mind picking up from there, but that should be a consideration.
That's right. Find a contractor that's been in the community and been in business for a few years and has got a good foothold in that you don't think they're going to go anywhere.
Right. And the insurance is another important piece to this because when that contractor is in your home working at your home, If they're not licensed or insured and they damage something or themselves, that's right, then you're on the hook for it.
That's right.
So you need somebody who's going to protect you and your family.
That's right. Make sure that they are covered, all their workers are covered under workers' compensation, and they have enough insurance. And they can provide that to you if you ask, that if something were to happen, that they would be able to cover any damage that could have happened in your home.
So that's choosing the right contractor. Of course, we've been in business since 1953. We have all these things we're talking about today.
