In this episode of The Comfort Experts, hosts Derek Cole and William Skipper discuss a common HVAC complaint: the system is running but there is little or no airflow. They explain that the most frequent causes are dirty air filters and problems with ductwork, such as leaks, disconnections, or obstructions caused by holiday decorations, toys, or stored items. The hosts emphasize the importance of regularly checking and replacing filters, inspecting ductwork in attics and play areas, and keeping ducts clear of objects that can block airflow. They provide practical, homeowner‑focused tips to prevent these issues and avoid unnecessary service calls. The segment concludes with the company’s contact information (phone number, website, and Twitter handles) for viewers who need professional assistance.

Hey, this is Derrick Cole along with William Skipper, and we are The Comfort Experts, here to bring you tips every single week on how to prevent your air conditioner problems. Now we have some common problems out there, and today we're going to talk about one of them we get a phone call about every Every now and then, but it's my system's on, my system is cooling, but I'm not feeling airflow. William, what is going on with that, man?
There are a couple of different things that can cause that, Derek. And the first is dirty filters. And we talked about filters in a previous show. Check your filters, people. Your filters, that is what allows that unit to breathe. A dirty filter can prevent airflow. It can cause airflow issues.
Right.
No air in equals no air out. So make sure that you're checking your filters. Another common problem that we find is ductwork. Ductwork leakage, ductwork that has fallen down, ductwork that has been mashed without realizing what's going on. You find a lot of ductwork in people's attics. And what happens this time of year? We're taking down the holiday decorations, we're going into the attic to store the decorations, and the kids are taking the boxes and they set them on top of the duct. They pull the ductwork loose, they mash the duct flat without realizing. Now, where's the airflow? Our technicians get there and say, "We've got a duct that's been disconnected." Also, we find ducts that are in the floor right around the kids' play areas. What happens, Derek?
I've seen that before. They stick a little Indiana Jones down the little hole to see what happens, and you stick enough of them down there and it blocks all the air.
Yep, that's right.
So be careful of that. In kids' rooms, we have seen toys and things in the duct system. So a few little tips that you can watch out for to prevent that service call from happening. But we are here if you need us. 910-534-4462 or you can find us on the web.
