A short sermon by Derek Cole arguing that the Bible may seem confusing to those who do not know Jesus Christ, illustrated by an analogy of a reader who later falls in love with an author and revalues his book. The speaker asserts the Holy Spirit illuminates and applies Scripture, making it a "new book" for believers.

Well, some people say, well, the Bible is so hard to understand, I can't understand it. I read it and I can't make anything out of it. I heard about a girl that read a book, a novel, and she detested it. She didn't like it at all. She put it down before she was finished after reading the last page, see how it came out. And then she met the author six months later, fell in love with him, reread the book and thought it was the greatest novel in the world. Now let me tell you something. You can read the Bible without knowing Jesus Christ and it's a closed book to you. It's a lot of hodgepodge. You can't figuring out heads or tails. You come to Jesus Christ and fall in love with him. And the Bible will become a new book too because you see, the Holy Spirit inspired it. And the Holy Spirit will illuminate your mind and your heart and interpret it and apply it to you.
