This short video (YouTube Short) by Derek Cole gives a concise checklist of pre-summer HVAC maintenance: schedule a professional maintenance checkup; clean the condensing unit/coil to remove dust and debris; change air filters monthly; and inspect ductwork for holes or damage to prevent airflow problems.
Today, we're talking about things you can do before the hot weather hits. Number one, schedule a maintenance checkup. Part of that maintenance is cleaning the condensing. Dust, debris, other materials kind of accumulate on that condensing unit, that coil that's around that condenser all year long. So it's causing the function less efficiently than what it could. Number three, check and change your filter every month. Inspect your ducts. Make sure nothing has a gaping hole. Nothing is falling down, nothing is getting in your system. It could be a challenge.
