This is a YouTube video titled "Apply Transitions in Descript" created in July 2024. The content is a tutorial-style presentation by a single speaker explaining how to add and customize transition effects between scenes in the Descript video editing software to create smoother visual changes.
Transitions are effects we can add between scenes in Descript to make things look a little bit smoother. So for example, I have a scene one right here on my timeline and a scene two. And if I click play, here's what it looks like without a transition. So it cuts from a zoomed in video of this guy to a zoomed out, just really abruptly to smooth that out with a transition. If I click scene right, here is the transitions box where we're gonna find all our transitions. You hit this plus button and you have transitions in, which is gonna be a transition at the beginning of the scene, or out, which is a transition at the end of the scene into the next one and you have a fade, which I'll just do a fade to black or I can choose any other color I want blur, which is just like it sounds. These are all pretty self explanatory, but feel free to experiment with them yourself. I like cross zoom, so I'm going to click on that and now here's what it looks like. So it does that big blurry zoom in and then it blurs into the next scene. And if I want to make any changes to how quickly that happens, there's this transition settings box and I can change the duration of it. Right now it's at 0.4 seconds and, and the intensity, the amount that it blurs is 200%. So you could feel free to play with those settings to get it to look exactly how you want. And if you want to try a different one, you can also change that here into any of the other transitions. If you like this video, be sure to check out this one next.
