Short tutorial showing how to re-sync the Descript timeline with the video playhead when the timeline stops auto-scrolling. The speaker demonstrates using the ‘Jump to playhead’ button and the Escape key as quick fixes, and mentions export behavior briefly.
If your Descript timeline is ever not scrolling with your video, as in your playhead is stuck in a certain place but the video is not scrolling, I'll show you what's happening and how to fix it. So if I hit play and you see that my my video is not moving, my timeline is not moving even though the video is playing, there's this jump to playhead button right here and I could click on that and it would start scrolling me with the video, just like that. Same with export. Or I'm going to click away again so that it doesn't scroll. So if it gets stuck again, then the other thing I can do is I can hit Escape on my keyboard and that's going to start scrolling me to that point. So I'm going to go ahead and hit Escape. So it's playing and now I'm back to synced up with the playhead and my timeline will automatically scroll as the playhead moves to the right.
