How to Publish Directly to Youtube from Descript

Descript lets you export straight to YouTube without leaving the app. Click Export, render your video first, pick YouTube as destination, add title and tags, sign in with Google, choose your channel, and hit Export. Publishing time depends on video length.
With Descript, you can publish your video directly to YouTube without needing to download anything. Here's how to do it. After you've completely edited your project and it's ready to be published, come up to the Export button in the top right corner. Click on that. Leave this first tab on video, and then where it says destination, you're going to actually leave it on descript web link. At first you could go directly to YouTube, but I'll explain why you want to do this. This is where you can set your resolution. So if you click on this dropdown here, you can choose anywhere from 480p all the way up to 4k. Now, if you're not seeing all of the numbers here, it might be because you're limited on your plan. You have to be on the creator plan or above in order to export at 4K. But select the Max. This is going to be the highest resolution that you can use for your particular video in whatever your camera was shot at. So select Max, hit this export button, and that's going to start rendering this video and preparing it for publication on YouTube. So now that we've done that, click on this dropdown. And now we're going to pick YouTube. We're going to choose the title of the video. So you can type in whatever you want here. You can type in a description, you can type in tags, and you can choose whether to make it private, public or unlisted. You can also set all of this stuff inside of YouTube studio. So personally, I never do it here, I just do it inside of YouTube studio. Once you've got all that set how you want, click sign in to YouTube. This is going to prompt you to sign in using your Google account. I have a bunch of channels here that I manage for clients, but select the one that you want to publish this video to click on that. It's going to take you back to descript, and it still hasn't published yet. We still need to hit the export button here in order for this to actually get sent to YouTube. So click on that and as soon as you do that, this pops up saying your video is being published to YouTube and will be on your channel in a few minutes. And this video was only 30 seconds long, so it published to YouTube almost instantaneously. But depending on the length of your video, this could take anywhere from a few seconds up to a few minutes to publish. And then once you get that published to YouTube completed successfully, there's a View button which, if you click on that, it'll take you into that video's settings inside of YouTube Studio, but publishing to YouTube does you no good if you have no idea what you're doing with descript in the first place.
