This is a YouTube video titled "How to Publish Your Descript Project" created in July 2024. It contains a tutorial-style monologue by a single speaker explaining the process of exporting and publishing projects using the Descript software, including options for saving locally or publishing online to platforms like YouTube or podcast hosts.
Once you're done with all the edits in your project, then you need to publish it. And to do that, you click on this black publish button at the top. And inside of here you're presented with two options, export and publish. Export is what will save your project locally. So this will put your project onto your computer's hard drive in some form that you specify. So you can choose Video audio only as a GIF timeline, which would be to put it onto another editing software like Premiere, but that's not available right now. You can do it as a transcript, which will be a word document, or as subtitles, which will be timed word documents that you could put onto YouTube, for example. So that's export again, puts it onto your hard drive. Publish will put it somewhere on the Internet. So you can put it to a web link, which is kind of like a loom link that you could share with somebody. It'll generate a URL where you could share this video, and it'll update when you want it to. You can publish it straight to YouTube, which I can't do right now because I'm in a version of descript that doesn't allow that you can publish to any of these podcast hosts if you use any of these. And the way these work is when you click Publish, it'll open up in your browser and you'll sign in to connect your account to Description. And then once you do that, you'll hit publish again, and your video or audio project will get published straight to that source. If you want to go deeper on descript, continue watching by clicking on this video next.
