This is a YouTube video titled "Import Files Without Transcribing Them (Descript)" containing a tutorial by Ross Zeiger explaining how to import files into Descript without triggering automatic transcription, demonstrating the use of project layers and script insertion options. The video was created in July 2024.
To import a file into Descript without it transcribing it. Maybe you want to save your transcription time or for some other reason you don't need it transcribed. Go to Project on the right side and we're going to add the file here and you could drag and drop it in or you can browse for it with that button there and I'll just pick something random here, click open it says analyzing added file and then I can add it as a new layer or I can add it into script to see the difference about those. Watch this video next. But if I insert it into script then it'll prompt me to transcribe it. If I add new layer it will not prompt me to transcribe it because the layers don't get transcribed. So if I click insert into script there it is, there's a transcription box and then I can label the speaker and click done and it'll automatically transcribe in just a minute here just like that.
