NEW AI Video Tool Creates Video from Text FAST

A walkthrough of Descript's AI Video Maker plugin for ChatGPT. Write a script, pick a visual style like watercolor or whiteboard doodles, and the tool generates video with AI voice and DALL·E images. Free plans work but have limits, and some outputs need manual fixes.
Imagine creating a video just by typing a few words. Descript's latest feature makes that possible. And the best part? You can skip the tedious editing process entirely. Let me show you how this works. I'm going to show you a video generated using this prompt. Make a short marketing video explaining the power of creating videos for YouTube and why the descript mastery school is the best place to learn how to get started. I have not edited this video at all, but I'm going to show you how to how you can edit it at the end.
YouTube isn't just a platform. It's the most powerful way to grow your brand, share your ideas, and connect with the world. But creating high so that's the first.
8 seconds of my AI video. The script was generated by ChatGPT, the voice was then generated by Descript, the visuals are generated by Dall E, and the animations and scenes were automatically created by Description. Let me show you how to do this for yourself. The first thing is that you're going to need a descript account and a ChatGPT account. The free plans for both platforms will work to do what I'm about to show you, but you will be limited on the number of uses per month unless you're on one of the paid plans if you don't have accounts on those platforms. Links to both are in the description below. Then you'll need to visit this link on your screen right now to open up descript custom GPT inside of the ChatGPT app or website. I'll also leave the link to that in the description. Then inside of the custom chat GPT, which is called AI Video Maker by descript, you're going to type in what you want your video to be about. And there's a couple sample prompts here. If you click on one of these three buttons, turn this script into a video for me. You could start with that and then paste in an entire script you already have written. Or you could say, make a video to teach me about Newton's Laws of motion, for example, and it'll do that. Or you can just type in whatever you want. Just tell it in plain English. This is what I want the video to be about. So I already have a prompt written and I'm just going to paste that in. Make a short marketing video explaining the power of creating videos for YouTube and why the descript mastery school is the best place to learn how to get started. Then I'm going to click on this up arrow to send that and it said let's create a Great marketing video. Here's the process. First, write the script. I'll draft a short, engaging script that highlights the power of creating videos, choose a visual style and generate the video. So here's the first draft of the script it came up with. And I could tell it, I could say, hey, make it shorter, make it longer, make it funnier, all sorts of stuff like that. Remember, with AI, the quality of the output is the quality of the input. So you do want to spend some time refining it here. Although also keep in mind that when it comes to editing, when this actually goes into descript, you're going to have more opportunities to edit it. This there, but I'm just going to tell it, that's fine, let's make it. And now it asks me to choose a visual style. And you have four options here. You can choose watercolor and ink, whiteboard doodles, low polygon, 3D or plasticine. I'm going to do whiteboard doodles. So just type it in and hit Enter and it's going to give you this. AI video maker by descript wants to connect to API. Descript.com Go ahead and hit confirm and your video is ready to be generated. Click here to preview it and edit it in descript. So go ahead and click on the generate your video link. And that opens up a new tab with web.descript.com to actually edit this video. It says, preparing for video generation typically takes two to three minutes. And select the drive where you want this to go. If you only have one drive, that'll be the only option available to you. And hit generate. And that same notification is here saying, generating video. Give us two to three minutes. And you can see the script is already populated in the back. That's the same script that we saw in ChatGPT. And then over on the left side, it's created scenes. And we can see that the sound is starting to populate in the sound waves on the bottom part. And our visuals are starting to come in. You can see these. Remember, I selected whiteboard doodles. So these all have white backgrounds with black things drawn on them. And it's done. That only took a few seconds. And if I go all the way back to the beginning, here's the key elements of what it came up with. It put in a captions layer. So those captions are going to be reading my transcript, the script that it came up with, and it's going to display those on the screen. It also turned the script into voice. So we're going to be able to Listen to that in just a moment. And it came up with a static image which if I scroll through here, notice it's doing a Ken Burns effect on it. So it's zooming and panning on that image and let's see how it all flows together. So I'm going to hit play.
YouTube isn't just a platform. It's the most powerful way to grow your brand, share your ideas and connect with the world. But creating high quality videos can feel overwhelming.
That's where description and it's imperfect. You can see on the school in the background that it created it. It tried to write Descript mastery, but it didn't do a very good job. But it's pretty exciting to see where this is going. These are all just static images. But in the very near future, I imagine this is going to be SORA and it's going to be creating dynamic video on the fly. And so I'm pretty impressed with how well it works right out of the gate. I'm having a lot of fun with it, so I hope you do too. And now if we want to make any changes to this video, I can click on captions. For example, come to layer and that's the captions layer down here and then the layer button over here on the right side. And if I find this text box right here, I can change the font, I can change the weight, the size, all that type of stuff. I can change the colors. And so that's how I could customize the captions. If I wanted to change the voice instead of being Cedric, I could click on this, on the name, I could change it to my own name that I've trained it on. Or I could go to stock speakers. I could choose a female name, for example, by clicking on it. And now that's going to change to Dolores. It's going to take a moment to process that. The AI voice. In the case of this, this image where it messed up the, the writing, I could click on this layer, the image layer for that, that image and hit delete on my keyboard and now it's gone. And then I could come into stock and I could find another stock media. Like I could just type in school and I could insert stock video. I could put in a gif or I could even go to underlord. I could go to generate an image, type in a prompt, like generate a whiteboard doodle of a school and I could add whatever it comes up with in here. Or I could even add in a image from my website like a screenshot of my website. So I go to project, I'm going to drag in a screenshot. I can drag it in and there it is. And I can just do layer order, send it back. And now, right when it's mentioning, that's where Descript Mastery School comes in. It'll display the image of my website. Now, you could use this video exactly as it is. But if you want to learn some simple techniques for making it more engaging, check out this video next.
