Matt Wolfe on Descript's v88 release: the company has shifted from shipping new features constantly to focusing on bug fixes and polish. He sees this as good news for users tired of learning new UI changes, and for his Descript Mastery business.
Today, Descript rolled out version 88 of the software and as with the last couple versions since version 86, I don't have anything net new to show you today, which represents, I think, an important shift in descript's approach and they wrote in this changelog for version 88. This week's update continues the trend of minimal changes and a focus on bug fixes. Throughout this company's history, they've been all about shipping new features and breaking things. This business, my business, Descript Mastery, exists for that reason. Descript is constantly adding to the complexity of their product and usually the UI that they roll out isn't very polished and is essentially constantly in beta, which is why people hire me to teach them how to use it. But I think they're starting to listen to the customers and really focus on just cleaning up all of the bugs and glitches and trying to polish what they have. So I don't have anything new to show you today, but kudos to descript for constantly making this a better product for all of us.
