Descript's script layer is the transcribed base of your project. Put only content that needs transcription there, not music. Use "insert into script" to add media with automatic transcription, or "add new layer" to place media above without transcribing it.
An important concept to understand is script layer versus other layers. Your script layer is the bottom one. You can think of this as your base layer. It's the most important layer because it's what gets transcribed. So you can see above the sound waves down here, you can see the words above it because it's been transcribed, as well as the transcription right here. So in determining whether to put something into the script layer or not, the question is really, do you need it transcribed? If it's something like music, that wouldn't make sense to put in the script layer. So, and you get the choice from your project files with all of these. If you try to, like, add something, you see that there's this new add new layer button. Or if you see add into script, which you won't see because this is an image. But if I go to a, like a video or a sequence, for example, then there's an insert into script option. And if I do that, it'll. It'll put that into my script at wherever my playhead currently is, and then that will get transcribed and that will be my script layer. Alternatively, I can click add new layer and it'll get added above my script.
