How to set your project's aspect ratio using the canvas control. Click the button in the top-left to pick Landscape (16:9), Square (1:1) for Instagram, or Portrait for YouTube Shorts and TikTok. Choose based on where you're posting.
The first thing we're going to do inside of our new project is set the aspect ratio. So inside of your canvas, on the top left corner, you have this little button, and it won't be visible until you put your mouse there, so you have to click. So notice it goes away if I click away, and then if I click back on there, it appears again. It's in the top left corner of the canvas. Then you'll have the option of making your video landscape, which is a standard 16 by 9, making it square a one by one, which is good for Instagram. And then you have portrait, which is good for like YouTube shorts and TikTok. So know ahead of time, what platform is this video for? How do you want it to look? And then set your aspect ratio using this feature.
