Translate your video into other languages in a few clicks

Descript's Translate feature lets you dub your video into multiple languages in minutes. Translate the transcript, toggle "Dub speech" to generate audio in French, German, Italian and more, and captions update automatically. The feature requires a Creator plan and a trained AI voice.
If you're making your videos in English.
Your videos have potential to be understood by about 1 to 2 billion people globally. That means there's another 6 to 7 billion who won't understand. You said differently. 80% of the world isn't going to be able to benefit from your content. What if I told you there's a way you can easily translate yourself into other languages? Today, I'm going to show you how to translate your video into other widely spoken languages with the click of a few buttons. Don't believe me? Here's me saying that same line in Spanish.
Hoyemo strarte como tradocio. Ah ocho cidiomas employment.
And here I am in French. And now it's your turn. Meet me in Descript and I'll show you how to do it.
Open up your Descript project, presumably in English, Come up to Underlord in the top right, and you're going to scroll down into this repurpose section, click on Translate. And by the way, if I come over to Descript pricing, this is only available on the creator plan. If you're on the free plan or the hobbyist plan, you won't see this. So you have to be on this tier, which I am. And once you're here into the Translate section, translate to. This is going to be the language that you translate into. And so I'm going to do Spanish. Where was that? There it is. It's alphabetical dub speech. So if you don't toggle this on, it's only going to translate your transcript. If you do toggle this on, that's when we're going to get our voice translated as well. So I'm going to show you just the transcript. First I'm going to hit submit. And you can see it happens almost instantly. And so on the left side, you have your original English transcript, and then on the left you have our Spanish one. If you're making your videos in English, and if you hit that play button, it's just going to play it in English. So I'm going to go ahead and hit done, and then I'm going to come back to the translate. This time, let's toggle on the dub speech. And when I do that, you can see my translate. Two options for the voice aspect of it. I only have five languages. English, French, German and Italian. Let's do Italian just for fun. And it's going to ask me to assign a speaker. And what this is is you have to have an AI voice trained. You have to train the system on your voice to know what sounds to create. So I have this AI speaker called Ross3. And you're gonna have to label it here. So I'm gonna say Ross 3, and then I'm gonna go ahead. Once I have that assigned, I'm gonna need to assign it there as well. Then I'm gonna hit submit. So make sure there's no unassigned speakers. That's the important part here. Assign it in the voice that you've trained. And if you don't know how to do that, go see my other videos on that. But I'm gonna go ahead and hit submit. And there it is in English. And you can see it says generating speech. And then that little blue spinning thing is letting me know that it's working on it. And let's see how this goes. So one section is starting to be done, and you can see these are broken up into different parts. So, like, this first one goes from 00 to 26 seconds. This next one is just two lines. And that's the first part that finished. So let's play it. Nomi credi eco la sefrazen spaniel. So there we go. And then also I have this part done. Serializzi tuy video in Inglese itue video annual potenciale da circa uno. And you can see it also changes my captions because the captions go off of the transcript. My transcript is now in Italian, so that is how it works. And then you can see right here, this new thing that's been added, this little language icon. And you can see the languages that I've translated it to. So I now have Italian and Spanish. And if I click on one of these, it'll pull it up. And so there's my transcript in Spanish. And then the English on the left, as well as when I go to publish same thing. I have this language button. I can switch between the original Italian or Spanish, and it's going to export it in that language. And if I export in Italian, it's going to export the Italian voice, the Italian dubbed voice. And so I can publish it to YouTube, I can publish it to a podcast platform or do anything that I can normally do with my Descript projects.
