A short tutorial transcript explaining how to add stock video, GIFs, images, and audio into a Descript composition via the media bin. The speaker demos navigating the media bin tabs (Files, Video, Backgrounds, GIFs, Images, Audio), searching (example: “business”), sampling tracks, and inserting selected media into the composition, including an AI text-to-image feature.
Now we're going to go over how to add stock footage to your composition. One really cool thing about descript is it comes loaded with stock video, gifs, images and audio. So from your composition page, go again to our media bin which is this little play button. This menu drops down. We have our files, which we just saw in the last video is where you can upload your files from your computer. If we click the video tab, then we get stock video just like this and we got tons of options. That's just by default, but we can type in anything we want. We type in business. Let's see what comes up. Got people sitting around a boardroom, you got stock charts, got office buildings. So it's pretty cool. There's thousands of videos. Whatever your topic is, you can probably find some stock footage there. So there's also there's a video tab and then there's a backgrounds tab which is just more generic, simple backgrounds if you're doing a green screen type of thing. Next we have GIFs. These are just like little memes. You have Giphy GIFs and Giphy stickers. These are the more animated ones. And again it's it Business was already typed in there, so it's finding me, you know, money buy now, order now. Business related stuff. So videos, gifs. Next we have images. Again business is still typed in there. These images are from unsplash, so they're all royalty free images. Again, you can use this to compliment your video. You got just like before, we have a photos tab, we have an illustrations tab, we have an unsplash tab and we have a text to image. This is a new AI feature so you can just enter your prompt and it'll generate the image on the fly. Then we have the audio feature and it's still got business in there. So it's going to pull up business related, corporate related type of soundtracks and we can just hit that play button to sample it. It tells you on the right here how long the track is and the name of it. And with all of these, with the music, if we want to add it, I just click the name of it. Inspiring soft piano corporate. I'm going to click that and there's this little loading media button and it's added and there we go. And if we want to do the same thing with a gif, let's say we just want to add this one. I just click it and there we go. It added it to our composition. So that is how to use stock footage.
