When you hit Descript's monthly AI speech limit, generated words get replaced with 'jibber' and 'jabber' to push you toward upgrading. Free plans get 5 minutes, Hobbyist 30, Creator 120, and Business 300. Common words stay, but names and rare terms get swapped out.

If you're using Descript AI speaker feature, and it's replacing some of the words with the words jibber and jabber, this is what's happening. And this article that I'm looking at right now is on help.descript.com and I'll put the link in the description of this video so you can see it for yourself. But basically what's happening is each of the plans have a limit to the amount of AI speech you can generate each month on the free plan, it's 5 minutes, 30 minutes on hobbyist, 120 on creator, and 300 minutes per month on business if you exceed that. So if you go into six minutes on the free plan, then beyond that, any words you generate, some of the words will randomly be replaced with the words jibber and jabber. Now they have a list of a thousand AI speaker words where these will not be replaced. So these are like the most common thousand words. But if it's something like names or business names, things like that, then that's where it's going to start replacing some of those words with the word jibber and jabber. And this is just a way that they try to get you to upgrade to the next higher tiers. Frustrating, I know, but that's what's going on. Your AI speaker is not broken. This is actually how it's created to work. If you found this useful, check out this video next.
