Why is it that most people fail to get rich even though they so desperately want it and they're working towards their goals? Right. Hi, I'm Devin Zander. This is the From Delivery Driver to CEO podcast. Thanks for listening. Let's get into today's episode. So all the time, people approach me. It's the nature of our business, right? Like, they wanna get rich. They wanna have millions or tens of millions or hundreds of millions of dollars, right? But most people fail to do this, and then they're bashing their head against the wall. Like, I did everything. I laid out the stuff steps. Why am I not rich? Right? And here's the truth of the matter is people want to be like a 1% earner. They want to be wealthy, yet they don't change their life. And they still act and operate and do the level of work that an average earner would do. Ladies and gentlemen, that is a massive disconnect. You cannot expect to, like, make millions of dollars, but do the same amount of work and put in the same amount of effort and treat your life the same way that an average person bringing home $60,000 a year does. No, no, no, no. You need to be a 1% worker. You need to put in the level of work dedication and discipline that only 1% of people do. And that is how you become a 1% earner. Not by doing the same shit that you did before you decided you want to make a bunch of money. Okay, what do 1% earners do? They have discipline. They have dedication. They have focus. They don't have Shiny Object Syndrome. They focus on one task, one objective, and then they show up every day and keep at it until they meet their goal. What does an average person do? They have Shiny Object Syndrome. They're thinking, well, maybe I'll try this. Or this. I need a magic hack. I need this, I need that, I need this. When the 1% realize, like, no, no, no, you don't need a magic hack. You just need time. You need time under pressure. Or that's how you make diamonds, right? Or time under tension. If you're working out, that's how you get big muscles, right? Like me. Look at those huge muscles. For those of you watching on video, they're not massive. I don't work out. But you don't have Shiny Object Syndrome. You focus, right? That's the 1% HAB. And they understand that the only way to turn coal into a diamond is by focusing on that one thing, not saying, oh, maybe I'll try this other machine, or I'll try this or I'll do that. Oh, my God. Maybe I'll just go to a new cave, right? Like, no. And they also 1% earners are not sitting around watching Netflix all day. They're not sitting around watching YouTube. In fact, they're not even sitting around listening to podcasts like this, believe it or not, which, you know, don't stop listening, you know, but whatever, they're out there working, they have goals, they know what they need to do, and they realize that everything else is a bit of a distraction. Now, caveat to that, like, if you don't know how to do what you're doing yet, then yes, go learn. Or go hire someone who's already done it before. Learning. Learn from them. Skip the learning curve entirely by having them install their system into your business. But you cannot show up doing the 99% or the whatever it's called, average amount of work, right? You can't be watching Netflix. You can't constantly be distracted. You can't constantly be changing your business model. You can't constantly be looking for shiny objects. And you need to just put in the work. So many times I see people doing average amounts of work. Like they will take six hours to do something that a 1%er could do in 20 minutes because they just sit down and fucking do it. While the average person gets distracted. They get their cell phone, oh, I gotta check my email now. Maybe I got a really important email. They gotta, you know, like, go watch tv. They need to check the news, they need to go see a friend. They need to do, oh, I need to have a meeting. I need to figure this out. Oh, I need to watch a couple YouTube videos to better understand this. No, it's like, just do it. The best way to learn anything, the best way to make progress, the best way to get better is, is to just do it. Obviously, reading helps, like attending masterminds or like workshops, stuff like that. They help, they do. But I've. The biggest strides I've always made in my business is when I just do it. There's two things that I do. I either do it myself and I go all in and I figure it out. Or alternatively, I go hire someone who's done it before and have them just come install it in my business. I don't, like, ask them, hey, how do you do it? Because I don't want to do it, and I'm not gonna be able to do it as well as they can. So I hire them, I have them come into my business, I have them Train our team. I have them create SOPs. I have them create all the systems, right? They tell us exactly what to do. They set everything up. They work with me for like, three months, and then by the time they're done, boom, we're good to go. That's how I do new things in my business. I do it myself or hire someone. And I don't waste time, I just get after it. And I actually get really irritated when I have to work with average people because they take forever to do things. And as a manager, I know that I cannot take the work over for them and do it because they'll never learn or grow. But at the same time, like, when people take hours to get something done that should only take 10, 15 minutes, it's like, it's incredibly frustrating. So I want you to, like, look in the mirror and ask yourself, like, dude, does it really take an hour to write that product description? No. Takes like five minutes. Okay. The product is going to do most of the heavy lifting, right? Everything else, there's small percentage points that increase it a little bit. But you need to do the top 1% of work. You need to be a 1% worker. You have to be above average if you expect above average results. You need to change your life and be an above average person, or else you will never get there. The motto for scup is, if nothing changes, then nothing changes. What does that mean? It means if you're an average person, when you decide you want to change your life, you cannot remain an average person. Because if you remain an average person, you will never get above average results. So that's it for today's episode. Guys, get it together. Stop being lazy. Be above average. Top 1%, baby. Let's fucking go make that money.
