In recovery, we often talk about good, orderly direction, but what does that mean? I developed the mnemonic Perfects. So good orderly Direction Perfects Perfects stands for prudence using wisdom and patience to apply that wisdom as appropriate in every setting endurance of hardships, respect for yourself and others, forgiveness of yourself and others, earnestly doing what you say you're going to do and give a hundred percent when you do anything, having compassion for yourself and others, being truthful with yourself and others, and being selfless in your interactions. All of these things work together to form good, orderly direction to help you use your energy to move toward your rich and meaningful life.
