Hey there, everybody. Doc Snipes back again. Today we're going to talk a little bit about sleep. Now, I know in the last video we talked about circadian rhythms, and circadian rhythms are important because they help regulate our sleep cycle. But there's so much more that goes into sleep, and when we are sleep deprived, we're fatigued. I mean, everybody knows that if you don't get enough sleep, you're going to probably be trying to live on coffee or something else. So getting enough sleep is essential for energy, but when we're sleep deprived, it also contributes to irritability, anger, increased anxiety, as well as brain fog, difficulty concentrating, and difficulty problem solving. When we have all those things going on, it's going to make it more difficult for us to really want to spend a lot of time with people, which is going to negatively impact our relationships. So something as simple as sleep can have a huge impact on our mood, on our relationships, and on our cognitive abilities. I encourage you to learn about sleep hygiene. Some quick tips Turn down, if not off, blue light an hour before bed to cue your brain in that, hey, it's time to start getting ready to go to sleep. Create a sleep routine where you're doing the same thing, same three things, roughly a about the same time each night. Try to eliminate caffeine after noon. I know that's a big difficult one for a lot of people. Make sure that you're addressing any allergens or noises that might keep you up. And make sure your bedroom is cool and your sleeping surface, whatever you're sleeping on, is comfortable. Those are just a few tips for improving your sleep hygiene. And I have several videos on the Doc snipes channel at YouTube where you can learn more. More.
